@TheVaushPit On top of everything else, that sign strobing is an epilepsy hazard! And it's pointed straight at a couple hundred windows where epileptic people could be living!
@NotYourBusiness-bp2qn Elon's wealth is fucking vaporware. It's all speculative on his products creating and monopolizing entire industries despite being mid or low tier. Ex, Teslas automated driving AIs are like 2 gens behind the true innovators in the field.
@@daraghokane4236 "Due to my birthright I am better than all of you. I earned my position as king, and therefore am better. Kneel before your god king."
There's far better examples. A billionaire buying companies isn't one. Nepotism hires that are destroying public institutions across the UK are far more concerning than whatever the salesman Musk is doing
Wait, they don't even have their own offices? I always figured Twitter had it's own complex, similar to Facebook and Google. Or, did they used to, and Elon's cost them so much money they had to move into shared offices?
There are alot of far-right low testosterone beta males like sally out there who in a traditional society would have been put to use as sex workers or eunuchs, but the conservative special snowflake agenda tells them they are men.
A psychologist could have a field-day with the fact that when Elon had that online argument about the best way to rescue that soccer team from a flooding cave, the FIRST thing he did was call the guy a pedophile.
When Trump was in office, i spent those four years having to take a moment before turning on the radio or checking the news, thinking to myself "Well, lets find out what stupid and/or dangerous thing he said/did TODAY." it was fucking exhausting. Elon is a much more fun version of this, because instead of the country I live in, hes just burning down a company i never cared about in the first place. I get to experience it as a popcorn-style "point at the idiot and laugh" series of events rather than "oh god hes going to put this plane in a nosedive and were all gonna die"
To be fair, twitter has an enormous impact on political discourse, and losing the next largest public square next to Reddit to Right Wing lunacy IS almost just as bad. But a Billionaire is ruining his fortune in the process… worth it.
It's funny but the death of Twitter has come with a lot of casualties that muskrat is directly responsible for and I can't think of any social media platform worth using that operates the way twitter did. It's a bit sad the way elon is parading its corpse around.
Use anything else. Perhaps use an app to copy down the videos from Twitter so that way you can have the videos stored locally on your phone/pc and not have to worry about accidentally stumbling onto something inappropriate for your students.
I give lessons to 6-year-olds as well. I love to give them hard life lessons on how to be one of the real deal holyfielld styled tight young American boys
He is competing with Zuckerberg, Bezos, Ellison, Gates. He has swept the floor with all of them. He came out of nowhere and just the other day the Ukranian offensive stopped because he felt like it. He made and controls 50% of the satellites in orbit, has the car company with the highest capitalization on earth, the Darling of NASA and I could go on. He is what happens when a ridiculous IQ and capitalism get together, the result is the guy having trillions and having an amount of power that nobody should have. Twitter means the control of the main channel of the American election and he has been able to say whatever he wanted without the slightest setback. I don't want to have an emperor of the planet, and people don't understand who they are dealing with. One person should not have that much power, because he can lie and say whatever he likes without any consequence. It is comical that people don't check the numbers of what he is doing and focus in the most comical insignificant things that have nothing to do with what he is really doing
The four dorkmen of the apocalypse: Trump, Kanye West, Joe Rogan and Elon Musk. Each reveal how stupid, crass, uninteresting and devoid of integrity and skill mainstream America is.
For the record, as a progressive I was instabanned for my blatant use of the word "moron" toward people like MTG and Wendy Rogers. Permanently. All appeals are denied. The only reason I was given was "hate speech"...which I *NEVER* did...not even a little.
Well, you're not allowed to hate nazis. That's mean. They can literally advocate for genocide and that's "free speech", but calling someone a dummy? That's too far.
@@superkingoftacos2920 after MONTHS of being banned I got unbanned. The reason for my ban was finally revealed...and I have no idea why they considered this "hate speech". This was ridiculous.
You can't punish someone because they have billions. First them then millionaires and then they will not allow you to own property because they consider to big. Then it will become you can not have ambition to be richer than you are. Eventually we will have everyone financially equal. Equal in make crap money ad living in crummy state run dwellings. That is Communism. If a Billionaire or anyone does wrong fine.
Ok I don't mind if billionaires exist but I do care if the wealth gap is how it is today, If the lowest material conditions on the planet were 2000 sq ft house green energy powering it etc I wouldn't mind some guy having a billion or two. But when our wealth gap is insane like it is Union tf up fight for our share they won't give us anything with a hard fought battle and victory.
I love how people thought this grifter was some sort of genius for so long when all he did was spout "future idea" over and over while surrounding himself with smart people willing to take a payout to keep their mouths shut while he takes credit for all their hard work. Elon Musk is an idea man with a lot of money and that's all he is and has ever been.
Nailed it. Huksters these days are always selling the FUTURE. Instead of developing a product and letting me decide after scrutinizing it if I really want one. People who buy the future need to wake the f**** up.
Its actually a compliment to call him an "idea man". An idea man is someone who actually thinks creatively and practically about new possibilities and that's 100% not what Elon Musk does; what he does is just vomit whatever kool sci fi bullshit he dreamt last night to a team of engineers or just outright took their idea as his. The guy is just a plain fraud with lots of money.
@@tombstoner4713 Anyone who tries to sell you something that is the "future" is an imbecile. Yeah, innovation requires some degree of madness, but I'll leave that to the people who actually know what they're doing.
I'm someone who used to think Elon was brilliant, and what I'd always say is that "Elon isn't stupid, but he's also evil." Basically, I was entirely aware he was a hustler, but thought being a hustler at such a high level required intelligence. I'm now aware I was wrong, but I stand by that having been a reasonable assumption with the information people knew about him pre-Twitter.
The whole Elon/Twitter saga has gotten so bad that its actually starting to make my struggles with derealization A LOT worse, every time I think about it I get a little more convinced I'm just experiencing one big hallucination. I really wish this was a joke..
If it helps, look into various historical figures of the past. Many of them have done really dumb things throughout their lives. Elon and his antics are well within the norm for a person of his wealthy background.
the grift is even worse, its not just the money, its the exclusive schools they get into as legacy admissions that dont actually give them any unique skills, but signify to the current rich guys that they come from their club, so they get hired for jobs that a lot of people are qualified for, but only those with the signifiers actually get a chance at. its like stock options, they provide deniability while still functioning as a work around for regulation of compensation, so they can say they are self made, and most people dont look deeper the challenge it.
@@JoshSweetvale I don't think you have seen the numbers. It is indisputable that he has obliterated all other billionaires and he is at the top when the market expansion is about to begin after the recession. I don't think people realize the absurdly dominant position in which he is right now. People are going to have to hear his name for decades saying whatever he wants over and over. That is premium level trolling😂😂
Other companies would kill to have their name become a verb like tweet and retweet have become. Musky boi throws it all away because he didn't mature beyond the 90's and still thinks xX360NoScopeXx is a cool username
just five years ago everyone couldn't shutup about what a visionary genius he was, even though it was obvious to anyone with a brain that he was full of shit
He masked his actual personality behind a bunch of progressive or transhumanist causes like digitisation and combating climate change. It seems that the liberal left is gonna continue to buy this virtue signaling forever
I got harassed by Reddit for saying he was an antichrist figure. It was weird how no one could say anything against Musk without his...obsessives getting their knickers in a twist.
Our species bakes gingerbread monoliths. In other news, the sky remains polluted due to planned obsolescence and proprietary greed and lacking in the required affordability our species needs to show a meaningful effort to dealing with the problematic airborne carbon atoms, rather than as we fixate on trying to raise enough money to afford to stop driving gas guzzlers to and from the factories so we wont end up dying from homelessness frostbite to cover land taxes to debate evading snappy narcissists because politicians keep saying polution makes the victims float off to a happyland in the sky. Take a fender for example. Being expected to fork over a grand for what amounts to about 8 dollar store plastic dinner plates? Vote for an atheist next, or if and when allowed.
I think we should play up Elon's prior intelligence just so we can blame his grindset lifestyle for his current fall and inevitable mental breakdown. Works or "works" 80-100 hours, sleeps 6 hours, has tried to reduce it, uses Ambien for sleep. "If you work twice as much hours you'll get twice as much done" It's just perfect material to show how 19th century ideas about productivity are still hurting people today. I think we should have a campaign to tell him to take a goddamn break.
Obviously quantity is not better than quality. We've known since the late 19th century that efficiency starts to drop off significantly the more hours are worked, and anyone who says they are just as productive and efficient on 6 hours or less of sleep per night is lying, either to themselves, or everyone around them. Rodent studies indicate that in addition to processing the data from your day, your brain is actually washing itself. The cortex shrinks and the cerebro spinal fluid pressure goes up, it's believed that this helps clear amyloid places from the brain (major cause if dementia BTW), so trying to get by on less sleep may literally be imparing cognitive function long term. The fact that seniors who get inadequate and/or poor quality sleep do poorly should be a red flag. Personally, I find a nice 2 hour nap in the afternoon quite refreshing, Elon ought to try it.
Only brain dead idiots believe that tripe about him "working" 80-100 hours, the oligarchy that runs this dystopian circus thinks that we are all morons.
You made Elon sound charismatic. It's actually "If...um you w-w-work twice as much...um hours, *1000 yard stare* you'll get...um...t-twice as much done."
As awful as this sounds, but I will stand by this: Continuing to refer to "X" as Twitter just to spite Elon is the only form of "deadnaming" in this context that is based and appropriate.
The thing about Trump is that he at least somewhat managed to maintain the facade of being a good businessman while he was still in his own lane. If he hadn't gone into politics he probably could've maintained the grift until he finally kicked it. Musk on the other hand managed to prove what an idiot he is while still in his supposed area of expertise.
"Want sleep, sorry, a divorced man owns the building next to you." Vaush you say that as a joke, but literally every decision Musk has made since buying twitter and soliciting a happy ending out of a flight attendant has been in spite of Grimes leaving him.
The X sign is actually very metaphorical for Elon's free speech activities. People across the street: "Your sign is causing us actual pain and discomfort!" Elon: "Hey! This is my business and my roof! Don't try to censor my freedom of signage! I'm a free sign absolutist!" SF government: "Your freedom of signage ends when it pollutes the area and makes people's lives worse. You are subject to our laws. Knock it off." Elon: "You make me so mad! You're lucky I don't have enough people on staff to argue with you about this!"
To think, a random dude like me could run a multi-billion dollar company better than the (former) richest man on the planet in every respect. The meritocracy isn't just a lie, its a fucking sad joke at this point.
Yeah he keeps failing and getting dunked on, but will we ever get to a point where he becomes irrelevant? I just can't wait to not hear about him anymore.
It's basically the "A" on the top of Avengers Tower. Elon Musk did that cameo in Iron Man 2, and he's had a pathetically obvious obsession ever since. Whatever weird behavior Musk gets up to, the best way to understand it is through the Tony Stark filter. The dude desperately wants to be the real world Tony Stark.
He was _born_ rich. That's what happens when you're the heir of an emerald mine: the guy could make nothing but terrible decisions for the rest of his mortal life and he'll still die rich.
@@ArkadiBolschekthat's not all. Not everyone who is born rich becomes the richest man on earth. He has other skills: a tremendous ability to market himself and an uncanny ability to find himself in a company of endlessly talented people who do all the work AND keep him in check.
Yep. I will not call it anything but Twitter. And I will not call Facebook anything but Facebook. They can stick their meme names where the sun don't shine. I don't have a Twitter account anymore so I can't do this. But we should get a HUGE number of people to just tweet "Twitter" at Elon. Just one word.
@@anonihme5142 A few months ago I read most of the remaining workers were foreigners with working visa… Their residency depends on it. They’re stuck until they find an alternative solution.
Elon's comment about "20 million lines of code" shows his complete ignorance of how software works. There's no correlation between the number of lines of code and why an individual was banned. It's not a bug in the code that it happened. The only bug I see is that Elon's an idiot.
The new twitter really does feel like Elon just got sad that nobody joined his discord server so he's gone and turned one of the biggest social media platforms into his own personal social hub instead.
He owns a good portion of the government. Rich white people don't get in trouble unless they literally try to assassinate politicians and overthrow the government and even then it takes 3 years to be almost close to people maybe saying they might possible get a slap on the wrist.
I guess that tracks, Musk would be dumb enough to not notice that Ferris Bueller is the villain in his movie and the figures that oppose him are justified in doing so.
The X sign could literally cause epilepsy seizures. I remember I went to school with a boy who had epilepsy and one day he didn't come in and I asked the others at my stop what happened and he'd literally had a seizure from the sun through the trees while in the passenger seat of a car and he'd rolled out of the car mid seizure. He did end up being ok after a few days he came back. Imagine what a sign like THIS could do. Hopefully nobody in that building across the street or nobody who drives by it has a seizure. That'd be genuinely horrible.
One doesn't have to be epileptic; living w/ scotopic sensitivity is enough to make this potentially life-threatening. You've made a good point, it's just broader reaching than you may realize.
It’s OK though when it all comes crashing down is fan boys will just say this is what he planned on it. It was a dimensional chess so we’re all stupid and he’s a genius and that’s why we need to give them money.
I havent laughed this much in years 😭😭 BRO REALLY MADE THE UGLIEST X SIGN, BEAMING WITH LIGHT JUST TO FUCK WITH EVERYOne AROUND HIM. This reminds me of how he made everyone miserable whenever he had rocket testing.
I remember hearing that when Elon was really focused on SpaceX there was literally an unofficial job title of Elon-Wrangler and it gets more believable every day
i had a classmate whose boyfriend worked as a spacex engineer and she said he’s lucky cause 1) he’s never had to meet him and 2) he isn’t one of the ones laid off during one of musk’s tantrums
What I love seeing is comments from his simps accusing us of collectively, only hating him because the media told us to (much like they with did with trump) Which I find genuinely hilarious, because there were plenty of people who hated him before it was cool, and there’s plenty of people capable of forming their own opinions without the media telling them shit. The fact that we seem to be in “agreement with the mainstream media” is nothing more than a coincidence which these people can’t seem to understand/fathom
I believe it's because they aren't questioning the conspiracy lunatics they follow on social media at all, so they assume everyone who disagrees does the same with mainstream news. That's been my experience with my limited personal interactions with those folks anyways.
Right. I’m an “old hater”, who has seen through him the first time I heard his name. Same with Trump. It’s like I’m spending ETERNITY waiting for the world to catch up….
Think of all the employees, former and current ones, having to write out "Worked at X (formerly Twitter) as a software engineer." on their resume to not be confused with the pornographic industry. smh
He ruined Twitter last October. I deleted my account then, and blocked it from my network as i consider it a malicious site. But yeah, looks like it will probably have to shut down soon.
I'm imagining Elon at the third act of a gritty action movie, badly wounded as he glimpses at his wall with a big framed letter *"X",* realizing that despite all his flaws, this is all he ever wanted
Elon unbanning that guy should make him personally liable for the images posted. So 129 years in jail! But anyway, it's stuff like this that Twitter is blocked from my network. At the network level, by my router. I consider it a malicious site and do not permit its traffic on my network AT ALL.
Wait are you telling me that this man... THIS BIG BEAUTIFUL BILLIONAIRE BOY is stupid??? I am shocked, shooketh, my whole world has been ripped asunder. Next you're going to tell me that he's a cruel person who doesn't care about other people and will showcase his fragile ego in harmful ways that make other's lives harder.
I know, hell next we might find out he went on an entire public tirade belittling and mocking a disabled person who he just fired (only to find out that they're on the "DO NOT FIRE" list)
Elon is not going to learn any lesson from his malfeasance until he goes to jail over one of his screwups. Also, based on the first video of the sign, I hope no one in that apartment building is epileptic.
He was never as smart as his public image used to be. I believe he even fakes having a stutter as part of the genius Asperger's persona; the Common Sense Skeptic channel documented how he fails the diagnostic criteria (while qualifying for sociopathy/psychopathy criteria), and the stutter disappears when he's either defending himself or joking around like a juvenile twit, ie being himself. His South African accent made it seem more plausible.
Eh, don't armchair psychologize. Aspergers and sociopathy can be co-morbitities, for one. For another, trying to find the right words for the job gets a stutter, being emotive and impulsive does not. He's evil. Just don't wield the DSM like a bludgeon.
@@JoshSweetvale I've taken psychology classes and there's an overwhelming abundance of public evidence of his behavior. A psychological disorder is a matter of severity, not specific symptoms which everyone may experience at some point temporarily. His anti-social issues are pervasive, long term, severe, and documented. His ex wife has said he has no empathy and most of his former and current colleagues say he's insufferable. Even as a kid in school he mocked a kid for losing his father to suicide to the point that he was pushed down stairs and his father conceded he probably deserved it.
@@eyebrid I've also taken psychology classes. Rule #1 is to not use the DSM from a distance. He's clearly a shallow-affect egomaniac. He probably also genuinely has trouble stuttering when forming long sentences as opposed to glib, laconic remarks (when relaxing or angry). But I say that in vernacular. What that means diagnostically I leave to the experts.
@JoshSweetvale I agree with your assessment of Musk, although I remain skeptical of his stutter based on his history of deception, think of Elizabeth Holmes. However diagnostic rules apply to licensed professionals. If there's enough public behavior, and consistent testimonies from close individuals, that check boxes required for disorders, keeping pervasiveness and severity in mind with a researched understanding of conditions, it's a public service to understand, especially when they cause harm to people. The Goldwater rule was a huge hindrance to public safety with regards to Trump and psychiatrists' warnings were validated too late. Musk repeatedly lied about FSD's capabilities for over a decade and many died as a result of misplaced trust. He ordered disabling Starlink satellites over Ukraine and cost lives. He supports Nazism on Twitter. I think it's not an exaggeration or inappropriate to call him a psychopath, even lesser forms are common among CEOs that don't harm others. Evil also seems appropriate but it has a religious connotation that many would roll their eyes at, it lacks scientifically provable criteria.
One important point about this story is: you don't get those images just anywhere. I know about the story through true crime youtube video's.... this evil shit isnt just floating around on the internet. It's some of the most illegal shit out there.
Yeah, I remember those true crime videos. I heard “Australian man” and immediately was like “oh surely it’s not *that* one” and lo and behold it was indeed *that* one. Fucking hell man.
Feeling like that Christmas movie where the neighbors keep trying to outdo each other's decorations. So the one puts up glaring lights that shine in the windows and keep the whole street awake
Next he'll change all the buttons to the X logo. Xtend instead of reply, Xpose instead of retweet, and the logo rotates 45 degrees into a + when you save a tweet to be Xhumed later.
I assume that this Dom guy will be investigated or at least be on a list. Especially cause this blew up into a big story cause of Elon. Why did he have those pics ready to go?!
About the CSA that guy posted. That case was already well known and the little girl/victim was like literally a baby at the time. People knew about this he didn't just find this new abuser. The guy who was involved in the production of that content is infamous for his acts of violence against kids. The poster wasn't actually concerned about spreading awareness. If you've been on the internet for a while you've at least heard the video's name because of True Crime RU-vidrs.
The combination of the uncopyrightable logo, the genericization of terminology (e.g., changing “tweet” to “post”), and that “We will have no name“ quote from last week makes me seriously wonder if he thinks/thought he could receive adoration and acclaim for adopting the aesthetics of open-source, without-obviously and crucially-actually being open-source.
In an episode of Archer, there is a clear Elon Musk parody person who lands a helicopter on a building and is asked "Does this building even have a helicopter pad?" and he replies "Anywhere is a helipad if you try." in all seriousness. Later in the episode he stupidly lands a helicopter on a frozen lake with the same mindset, tanking the ice and dying in the wreck as it inevitably falls through. I think Elon saw himself in the character and said "Wow, what a genius mind that's meant to be me. He's right, I can do anything I want also. If you use heavy sandbags, they're heavy and hold things down, I know well enough."
while i would like to give the benefit of the doubt to that dom guy that he was just trying to make a point, i legitimately have no idea how he could have those images without having some personal interest in it. peter scully's crimes are so extreme that they were considered an urban legend of sorts, a rumor that no one could really confirm existed until he was actually charged. you would really have to go out of your way to find that shit
I got an immediate sinking feeling when I heard "Australian man sentenced in the Philippines". Knowing that the images posted are almost certainly the worst of the worst CSAM makes this so much more awful.
