Must remind you some years ago he was openly stating "I have more combined knowledge in manifacturing than anybody else on the planet". Usually truly smart people don't need to underline their intelligence and knowledge to others by words, as facts speak for themselves. He instead needs to constantly underline it because all he usually do is throw money to hire armies of experts in a specific field and then claim he did all by himself with his genius when on camera. Until people finally stopped falling for it, as more and more truth came out. As they say: "You can fool some people all the time, you can fool everyone for some time, you can't fool everyone all the time."

As a former Tesla employee, my favorite was when I got hired and then right after I get there he makes his announcement that he might take the company private. He sunk the stock for over a year, which is when our stocks vested. He hurt his own employees by saying he might do something and had nothing to back it up. I'm grateful the SEC is after him, he has absolutely no tact in business or in life.
@Anthony-un4yz
@Anthony-un4yz 11 месяцев назад
You clearly don't know how any of this within the markets actually works, especially Josh, who should be smarter than this. Learn what an NFT actually is first, instead of being locked into the same ancient monetary systems we've always been, i.e. centralized finance (you probably can't even make that connection). Oh but Josh and everyone that thinks they know anything about NFTs can simply sit their myopic ass down in front of a camera and speak and suddenly it all becomes truth because you have a lot of people agreeing with you? The plumbing of the markets allows certain entities (market makers, hedge funds, etc..) have an absurd amount of control over the price of a given company's stock. That's why Elon hates the SEC, they are supposed to protect publicly traded companies, but they don't. All of this is a psyop against people that are less interested in sound information, and more interested in sounding like they have information. That's most everybody. Remove an NFT from a centralized exchange but have it be attached to something of real value like a home or a car, and suddenly these NFT's people like to shit on get to flex their actual strength, decentralized finance in all forms. But please, go on agreeing with a RU-vidr like the lemming you are. Josh, you should be better. You're talking about Elon's ego here, lets see how fragile yours is.

I think the tweet from Esther Crawford, the woman who went viral with sleeping in the office gives a ton of insight here. Especially the part with her commenting that Musk basically surrounded himself with an army of people who would never dare to oppose him and just do his every bidding. He is a spoilt kid. He cannot fathom the thought, that one could deny anything from him. He is a textbook example of a narcissist. But to his credit he is also a glorious example, that competence and success dont have a clear causality. People who are not rich are not stupid or dont work hard enough, and people who are rich arent genious or the most hard working. Truly noble and inspiring, that the richest man on earth proves that to us on a daily basis by making the most dumbass corporate decisions we have seen in a long time

Josh, he's a billionaire. You and me can not call our technically elected leaders. HE can. He might have forgotten there was a time when he himself couldn't but he's been able to call heads of state and politicians for so long... And no, I don't think this makes him a narcissists, I think this makes him out of touch. When the iPhone launched Steve Balmer - the then head of Microsoft - laughed at it during an interview asking "who'd pay $500 USD for a phone?" He was wrong, but he was still in touch with the average consumer of his products. Thing is, most people in his position are not. IF you live in a world where go to restaurant every day and have neither cooked a meal in a decade nor needed to pay attention to your restaurant bill in as long you soon find yourself not knowing what a meal costs for an average person. It's the old "let them eat cake" thing that's missattributed to France's last queen. There comes a point where you're so removed from everybody else you no longer have anything in common with them despite having everything in common with them.
@LuaanTi
@LuaanTi 10 месяцев назад
iPhone was always so funny. It did all the same things all the competition did. It was completely uninteresting in every way. Except for one thing - marketing. Somehow, they were the first to try to market a personal assistant to everyone. Everyone else marketed to businessmen (and fairly poorly at that). I also always loved how it convinced people that it's oh so intuitive and easy to use, which iPhone users readily parroted back to everyone... but couldn't actually _do_ anything with it. Priceless. The $500 figure is really weird to an European too. I had a roughly $500 phone in 2004, three years before the iPhone first released, as a kid. How much did mobile phones cost in the US back then? :D Though to be fair, he does say "fully subsidized", i.e. not actually retail price. I also had a much more expensive PDA/MDA, but again, those were marketed to business people, not as general replacements for mobile phones (no, I wasn't their target group - I just wrote software for all sorts of such "embedded" devices).
@AlucardNoir
@AlucardNoir 10 месяцев назад
@@LuaanTi You said it yourself, anything that was in the same price range wasn't targeted as your average consumer but at businesses and businessmen. Your average cell phone users at the time was probably going to use a Nokia 3000 series phone. The last of which was launched in 2010 - and those were not expensive phones. Cheap and could last a decade. Frankly, had frequencies not changes with 3G and 4G and had smartphones not revitalized the market there would probably still be people out there using them. They were cheap and built to last. Modern smartphones, even if you get 5 years of software updates, you're still probably going to have to change the battery 3 years in if not earlier. But yeah, there were PDAs as expensive as what Apple was selling, I think HTC had stuff even pricier, but that wasn't aimed at Joe Average like the iPhone is.

It was over-valued, Muskrat got suckered, and Twitter's former owners still can't believe they got away with the con job of the century in broad daylight for everyone to see. It's theorized that Musk only offered to buy Twitter in the first place so he could liquidate some of his Tesla stock without spooking the stock market then back out of the deal, but he accidentally committed himself and had to go through with it. As theories go, it's fairly plausible and pretty much benign.
