On top of that, the realities of many people's lives don't allow them to simply become good at something meaningful for free and even if they did, the modern economy doesn't offer enough meaningful paid work for everyone. Besides even meaningful professions are often exploitative and life is not about wage labour for many people.

I created a crypto currency aiming to do a form of UBI but wealth distribution is not legal in the USA so no im broke and working meaningless jobs again.

The problem is that people with no meaning or consequences turn to drugs and then bring down other people with them. Additionally, people fight for social status. Even in a world where everyone is given everything they want, there will be a new social status symbol that people will chase and the 'haves' / 'have nots' will always be at odds with each other.. A utopia cannot truly exist because of how human nature is.. To create a completely secure future it'd require taking away the freedom for people to make mistakes or break the law.

Most western countries already have a form of UBI. The problem is that, without government housing, you will have an increase in the cost of housing, especially in the world we live in (controls on housing/building laws/red tape/zoning). Also, I have lived in such places that will rent to people taking government assistance. Trust me when I say this: it's like living in an open zoo. Prison here(Germany) would have been better and safer. These people do not think like your average person. If the government is to build the needed infrastructure(housing), how do we prevent soulless commieblocks like those seen in the former USSR states? While providing all necessities, they are quite literally get in the pod and eat the bugs level of dystopia. Also, I'd rather be dead than live in a place like I used to. There was nothing but drugs, alcohol, fighting/stabbing, urinating/defecating in the hallways etc.

Ya If I didn’t have to dedicate 8-9 hours a day to work I’d have more time to focus on the gym, hanging with friends finding hobbies, learning cool skills, or just enjoying my favorite pieces of media. I just want to be free to be able to do all this and not have to worry about money and slaving away for some shitty corporation. But right now all I can do is wake up, do morning routine, go to work, come back home, go to gym, come back home, cook, eat, do my nighttime routine and go to sleep. What research tells us abut majority of people it's that they base the core of their identity in their job, work, professional career. especially true for males and when they cannot find meaning there we have increase military conflicts, more rapes and violence against females plus more depression and suicides. And for some reason males if unemployed for a long time, even if married to wealthy women do not find fulfilment in any "care for animals, the environment or people, coach, teach..any interests you have you find fulfilling.". So my guess is that in no time with AI replacing more and more of human jobs humanity is heading towards more violence and wars that it knows from all other periods in its history. As for this promise of "high universal basic income" given that currently 1% of wealthiest humans owns majority of Earth resources would be wise to ask " if it's possible and wealthy and mighty of this world are so good-willing in this regard why we do not intruduce it already?" . And oh yes, my well-educated guess regarding possible answer is probably the usual combination of " because there is nothing more natural than greed, egoism, need for competition and hierarchy among humans.". As for the idea itself, my guess is new trending white lie that is supposed to promote even more agressive AI race is going to be this "high universal basic income for everyone" but as far as I am aware all seriously discused and tested options fall well below levels of social care that have been offered so far in most countries that followed any form of "wealthare state" concept. So for most people moving from traditional social care to UBI would be a drop in their disposable income, not any real increase to rave about. And so far nobody explained to me how AI and robots are going to compensate for rapidly decreasing purchasing power of shrinking human labour force given that robots and AI do not have any need to consume goods not to mention to consume them in return for spending money to purchase them. So I still wait for any serious discussion of this issue from any AI experts or enthusiasts.

If the creator exists (and I give it a round about 50% chance it does), than you could still continue asking why the creator exists and so on. The existence of a creator does not solve the chain of questions. There could be a meaning of life out of the subjective view of the creator. If you want to inherate its view as your meaning of life than this becomes also your subjective view. Second thougt, is it not the other way around? We need to phase it in. We should set up an opt-in system where the earlier you take UHI the less money you qualify for. The longer you can hold out, the higher the UHI you qualify for. This keeps people incentivised to work as long as possible but avoids starving families living in tents when there is no work.

Yes, in a sense UBI/UHI will be needed as a kind of gate on how much one person can demand the robots create for them. And we already have this problem today as a guy like Bezos has an ultra-yacht so large it requires its own fleet of support ships.
