The main reasoning assumes continued embarassingly low voter participation. If people organize and it should be possible to motivate a few percentage points of higher participation to off-set this effect. But a smart and proper reasoning anyhow 👍🏼

Should the government provide every citizen with an ID so everyone is able to vote? Many Americans don’t drive and they don’t have a reason to get a passport, why should they be denied the right to vote?

A simple majority rule comes from the stink of systemic ageism developed from being in the classroom for 12 years. With it, the president would be a regional governor in which the US would be ruled by California - possibly Florida or Texas. The electoral college replaced having the president elected by Congress. It needs to be improved - tweaked by having it better reflect both houses of Congress. States need more power to become like the states of Germany, Japan, Taiwan, Switzerland, etc.
