The problem with overthinking is the inablity to keep the feeback loop short. Start with a working prototype and iterate, and direct your thinking on the iteration.

Overthinking is just the worst thing in a startup. People will "rip your idea off". Your product will SUCK at first. You don't need to prep for a deluge of new users. Don't throw a party. No swag until you have money in the bank from a customer. Don't worry so much. VCs will share your deck around, who cares? Being better and faster comes down to not overthinking in most cases. Amazing video! Listen to these guys. Who cares if they are rich or whatever, they were just crazy enough to go for it. Be crazy.

I've been a massive fan of YC since the beginning. As a bay area baby, I've observed, worked, and lived amongst fantastic companies that have pushed the human race forward. This new batch of YC leaders seems to be disposals of the great Paul Graham. These videos are cinematically new, but the concepts and heuristics are Regurgitations of Paul's essays. YC has been a net benefit to humankind. YC provides individuals with a beacon of hope that one day they will carry the torch of change into the future .YC mints individuals into founders and marks them with a purple heart for Courage and Valory... This batch of YC leaders seem to lack original thought and struggle to expand startup knowledge

It's all about the execution and faith. Often times you will think an idea might not be doable until you actually spend some time trying to figure it out.

This is probably the most important idea when building a product.

Very helpful and I get the point... But to be clear, people like Elon Musk know a lot about things work (or take steps to know them) to have enough conviction and drive to generate a solution :)

I am currently building in the built sprint, I lunched my MVP then Pivoted within a week, relaunched its MVP next week , someone at startup school asked me what matrics I am tracking to track PM, I said " Honestly I haven't figured out how exactly to monetise, but if you are taking PM for me probably will be if my 50GB web hosting space gets exhausted , and I would need to beg money to my users and friends to buy some more". LOL Ps: I have 15 weekly user , last 2 days I had only 1 organic user.
