Elon Musk: X to fund Irish legal challenges towards hate speech legislation

In an interview with conservative website Gript Media, Elon Musk said he would help fund challenges to Ireland's new Hate Speech legislation.
Newstalk Breakfast's Shane Coleman retorted saying Musk doesn't need to fund legal challenges and shouldn't be 'butting in' to things he doesn't understand.

Love it, especially the way she says 'Gript' through gritted teeth. The old Irish media are dead. They don't speak up because they are waiting to get on the government jobs merry-go-round. He can reject Elon's offer, but I think that you'll find that others will gladly accept his offer and challenge this tyrannical legislation.

Majority of people in Ireland do not want the hate speech bill but the government ignores the people, which means we do not have democracy. If the bill passes I will never vote for those now in the Dail for the rest of my life.

He illegally fired 100s of Irish workers and locked them out of the building, probably not good to support anybody who views us as badly as the yanks did in 1870. Ye can make a fair argument against the hate speech laws (I don't like them AT ALL) but I don't want a billionaire Irish job taking fella to have any personal influence or power in our country. The yanks have done enough damage, let alone the diet yank that is Elon Musk.

Shane Coleman, Elon Musk has significant business interests in Ireland and he is entitled to fund legal challenges to any laws that may effect his business interests. Also, Elon Musk bought twitter partly in an effort to protect free speech!! Not to damage it. You, Mr Coleman are very far out of line in telling him to but out. The proposed hate speech laws are driven by Fine Gaels and the GCM, Objective 17, Section 33. Everybody should read it.

I’ve been discussing the negative implications to the vagueness / opaqueness of the term “hate speech” & about the government synthesising a “far right” in Ireland to force this legislation through the Dail, using mass hysteria psychosis techniques to force the public’s hand. If the platforms are based in Ireland they become world laws can you see it now. Imagine a government introducing something damaging to the Irish people and you disagree they it can be interpreted as hate. You must understand that “hate” like many other words can’t be accurately defined in law in a concrete way. This being the case your masters will whether in the form of NGO’s or government will interpret in their favor and not the people’s freedom to speak out.
