Referencing that your quilting is like your handwriting is a wonderfully helpful analogy. We are all making the same ’letters’ just in our own handwriting style. Not right or wrong, just different. 😊❤️😊

My first quilting along with you and in case I don't tell you next week, I have had a wonderfully fun, skill-building time! Ordered the panel and it was so well designed to give practice opportunities. The tutorials and live chats were perfect bite-sized amounts of information. Loved the leafy meander variations (the wood grain, not so much :). Am super proud of my quilted panel and I thank you!!

For folks outside of the US, a "quarter" is a coin. It measures about 1" across, which is about 2.54 cm.

im figuring out that I'm more of "just fill it in and wing it", trying to teach myself not to stress over how it looks. Like how you referenced about writing your name, give it enough time and you'll catch on to it. I was winging it working on a zipper pouch that I was quilting the panel, and I amazed myself at how awesome it came out after I quilted it.😁😁 thanks Angela for these tutorials and live chats!!

This is great thanks, I really want to achieve this to use on a queen sized quilt all over that is primarily squares and rectangles. I am finding this design challenging, but will prevail!

I would also like you to actually demonstrate how to square up the panel please. You gave lots of great tips in your presentation on the slide show. Now I think it would be helpful to watch you step by step trimming and squaring up the panel. Thank you, I m looking forward to this challenge. This is the first time I’ve purchased one of your panels. I can hardly wait to start. Connie🇨🇦

I don't really like dense quilting because it makes the quilt more stiff. Less quilting is better unless it's a wall hanging. But your quilting is very nice

Happy Mother’s Day everyone. Kinda of an off topic question about stitching in the ditch, do you generally stitch in the ditch before quilting your quilt or do you just start your quilting designs?

Thank you -only got the tail end. Could I possibly quilt elongated swirls for a border on a 7 foot circumference circular quilt?

Hi Angela: when using the longarm, do you hold onto both handles or step to the side and hold on to one handle? I also find myself losing my place when the thread matches the fabric, or the fabric is to busy to see where I have been. So I will try to cover the light on the machine to see if that helps. Thank you for that tip.

What do you quilt with most? Your long arm or your domestic machine? Which is easier?

When you quilt the swirls on a border do you come back and do the fillers on either side, or do you do it all at the same time?

How do I find the round presser foot that you have. My machine has an oval foot and I can't use that easily with a ruler as well. Lynn

Do you find that dense quilting makes the overall quilt stiff? Im new and have only made 4 quilt tops and I am practicing quilting trying to work up the nerve to touch my actual quilt, but one my practice pieces, the dense designs seem to flatten out the batting and make it too stiff. Will that work itself out over a larger piece? I'm worried I will ruin my quilt. I read that no more than 4" apart is the rule on how big to quilt. Is there a recommendation on what is too close to have your stitch lines?

I quilt densely, and use thinner thread, currently 60wt Glide. Butt have used 80wt and 100wt threads. That way you get texture without too much thread build up. Also, after washing, quilts always soften up.

I having trouble getting my ruler foot to go over the seams. The foot is all the way up yet still catching on all seams. My guess is that the foot is the wrong size, but how do I know what size is correct?
@marymannion4445
@marymannion4445 3 года назад
Yeah me too. What I do is lift the ruler foot, and move the quilt ever so slightly so that I can go over the seam. It is tedious, but it works for me. I recently did a quilt where the blocks had 16 seams meet, and there was no way the needle was going to go through the point where they met. So I quilted around them, and I’ll live with the puffiness. Good luck to you...
