One of the most magical moments on the recent Return of ELP tour was a moment none of the audience got to hear.
Each night our sound engineer sound-checked Keith's keyboards and Greg's vocals without anything else playing, and it never failed to give me chills...

Just awesome. Thanks Paul and Steve. As Keith once said, “We have technology, but you still have to play the music”

Gave me goosebumps when Steve skipped to the end and the Moog kicked in and Keith was on the screen. Can't imagine what that feels like during a sound check.

ELP has been my biggest musical influence and even I was ... skeptical about this tour concept. Now I can't wait to see it. Everyone raves about how well done it is.

Yeah, I was a little nervous when I saw some of the negative comments on social media... but I haven't heard a single negative comment from anyone who actually saw the show!

@@PaulBielatowicz I know and Keith didn't like it until he herd Carl and Greig playing it wile recording it wow what a wonderful thing Keith added to it it went to #1 for them I herd it in the early 70s and fell in love with it

I love listening to isolated tracks because freed from being buried in the mix, they sound most like something produced by a human being.

We like that Carl continues to play and keep the ELP legacy alive, but out of loyalty to his fans he MUST publish his memoirs, his REAL MEMORIES of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, as Keith and Greg have revealed little or nothing in theirs. We want to know the truth of everything that happened.
@edgarbower8089
@edgarbower8089 Год назад
I like this, but why couldn’t they have used Greg and Keith’s tracks from the ‘70’s instead? Not able to with tech? (Greg’s voice was so much better in the 70’s.)
@PaulBielatowicz
@PaulBielatowicz Год назад
That would have been amazing, wouldn't it?! The reason they used this '92 concert was that it's the only ELP live show they had a multitrack recording for, as well as individual camera angles.
@magneto7930
@magneto7930 Год назад
@@PaulBielatowicz that makes perfect sense. Multitrack recording wasn't as common for live shows in the '70s unless you intended to record a live album. Today it's a breeze. Thank you so much for this upload, really enjoyed it!

Honestly, I was sceptical about the idea at first, but now we're on the 2nd leg of the tour, I've seen how much enjoyment this show is bringing to the thousands of people who have seen it. I completely understand that some people would prefer not to see the show, but I've seen first hand how much it has meant to the so many who have.
