One of the greatest song ever by Elton John, my musical idol since 1972! Take a look to" Funeral for a friend" in MSG in NYC 2000 it's WOW!! He s still singing it Now, during his farewell tour!! Thank's a lot !!!
I am very set in my ways and it takes a lot for me to try new things such as listening to new comics or music. My willingness to venture out and give other people a chance has been solely based on your true, sincere, and entertaining reactions!
It should be noted that both the choir and the orchestra are all students from the Royal Academy of Music in London. The whole concert is on RU-vid, I highly recommend it. At least watch "Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting", it rocks.
Yeah Elton is one of the last real legends of musuc. You schould check him out playing "saturday Night its allright for fighting" live in central park. Its absolutly Energetik. Greetings 😁
Tumbleweed Connection is my favourite Elton John album. Lyrically its one of the best abums I've ever listened to with magical words from superb Bernie Taupin accompanied by Elton's fantastic arrangements. My favourite song is Talking Old Soldiers. It's an album to listen to at your leisure! :)
Try the same song, sung live on Elton's first trip to the USA. It's on the album 11-17-70 (the date of the live performance, in New York City. It's pretty stunning. The drummer here was there then too, Nigel Olsson. The other bandmate then, Dee Murray on bass, is no longer with us. Originally his band was a trio.
I don't know if the live version is exactly 'react' friendly. Elton and the band would go off on jam sessions, unrehearsed, and the middle of Burn Down the Mission has one. They still do this...Elton will start free-forming, and the band just goes with it. They can be pretty fun.
More encouragement that you might enjoy "Funeral For a Friend". It's another orchestral masterpiece, shows off the height of Sir Elton's creativity. 😁🤓😇
Awesome song, I was fortunate to see Cats when it was on Broadway and it was incredible, at that time it was the longest running show on Broadway, of course Elaine Paige was in the London performance, which I have the movie of, so good!
What more can one ask? Yes, he practically burned up that great grand piano! Your reaction was pure joy to see! The full Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, the choir, the guitarist and other musicians and Sir Elton John playing at the top of hs form and getting gleeful - just an exuberant and professional presentation and light show at the same time - a Celebration, and the audience adored it too! One for the ages!
The song 'Sixty Years On' was Elton and an orchestra on the original album. He and the band converted it to their trio capabilities (piano, bass, drums) and it's a different song. It's amazing. The original is a bit forgettable. The live version on 11-17-70 is incredible.
Sarah, you took the words right out of my mouth - the first thing I was going to say was that this was an EPIC performance of this song! Major props and thanks to David for the suggestion! I also heartily second the suggestion from Janet Lawson to do Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding! See if you can find a live one with an orchestra like this performance, but even if not, react to it one day, please! Take care,
An excellent artist.Have you heard of Freya Ridings?Freya Ridings is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.And a smashing young lady.
@@SarahDengler Well her father is Richard Ridings.Richard Ridings is an English actor and great bloke. Can i suggest Freya Ridings - Lost Without You (Live At Hackney Round Chapel).I think you would like this.Thank you for your reply and your time. All the best from England and stay safe..
Hmmmm, Sir Elton as the premier pianist? May I offer you a taste of Billy Joel playing "Root Beer Rag" live? Elton is a great composer, but he is a conservative pianist. In an interview, he admitted that he was intimidated playing with Leon Russell, who he thought was a far superior pianist. Still, I love Elton's unbridled enthusiasm performing this great composition, and hugely enjoyed your reaction (as usual 🤗). Stay well. 😇
