It’s a stupid song lyrically, yes, but just like Elton’s earlier song, “Solar Prestige A Gammon” that clever Elton goes and writes a pretty decent melody. I actually like the rock arrangement and I’m pretty sure that was Davey Johnstone on the guitars. So if you can get past the corniness, it’s a fun album cut. If Elton ever played this live, it wouldn’t have been after 1982, that’s for sure.

"Jump Up" is a rather unusual album, IMHO, for Elton. Half of the songs are good-to-excellent, while the other half are really crappy. Guess what category I find this one in..
