what a great pop song! he makes it look so easy. this song was such a HUGE hit in the mid 80's. laughing like children, living like lovers, rolling like thunder, under the covers. great lyrics. and to have stevie wonder playing a harmonica solo on your song is some pretty sweet icing on the cake. btw, billy joel is a badass!!!!!!
And while I'm away Dust out the demons inside And it won't be long before you and me run To the place in our hearts where we hide... I cry at night but it doesn't help...
I have been a fan since I was 8, I am now 37 and will always be a fan, does anyone like 11/17/70, I love the album, but I really love "Bad side of the moon.
Don't wish it away Don't look at it like it's forever Between you and me I could honestly say That things can only get better And while I'm away Dust out the demons inside And it won't be long before you and me run To the place in our hearts where we hide And I guess that's why they call it the blues Time on my hands could be time spent with you Laughing like children, living like lovers Rolling like thunder under the covers And I guess that's why they call it the blues Just stare into space Picture my face in your hands Live for each second without hesitation And never forget I'm your man Wait on me girl Cry in the night if it helps But more than ever I simply love you More than I love life itself
I've seen both EJ and BJ in concert both recently and the 90's. Elton's piano playing is a level above Billy's. I love Billy, but it is what it is. Elton - even in the 90's - is just a better live singer.

@24fraze i'm sure if billy joel was asked he would say elton is a big influence on his career....weren't too many pianist rock stars back in the 60's 70's
@@nathanzondlo7393not necessarily true, he kept a good chunk of his tenor tone until about 98, where it started to darken due to overtouring, like what happened in 86, he was fully a baritone in 99
what? lol he still sings the same notes - he's still a tenor... anyone hitting A above middle C in full voice is still a tenor. He just lost full head voice which I think he can still do sometimes.. if you here him live and listen to funeral for a friend he'll use his head.
Ok Elton started as a session player. Billy Joel has employed session players fact!! However Billy Joel is a solo artist. Elton only writes the music his partner writes the lyrics. In conclusion who's better is dumber than blue is better than red!
well i guess. but if no camera was on him, then they couldnt go to that in the final edit right? i dunno, either way, someone should have payed more attention *shakes fist*.
@trysomethingnew23 Yeah, but he doesn't write any of the lyrics so I guess you have to credit Bernie Taupin every time you credit Elton... Whereas Billy Joel does the whole lot.... So all you're listening to here is Elton's music...
