I was there Live! It was for the Disney and Elton John Aids foundation! I will never forget this night! And I have been to hundreds of Eltons concerts, when his voice was at its best! This was 3 hours of pure perfection!
first, how could anyone dislike this???? I saw Elton in Wilkes Barre, PA and one of his staffers came up to my date and I and gave us front row tickets!!! It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. He truly is a gift. If you havent seen him live, then you should go as soon as you can.
I was at this concert!I will never forget it!It was a beautiful night with a slight bite in the air.To me it was the last time I would ever hear Elton at his peak!If you can find it listen to his version of Talking Old Soldiers from this concert! I did't even have tickets for this concert,and my girlfriend and I went up to will call,and a couple ahead of us turned down 2 tickets that sold for about $400 each,and we walked up and the person said these are the last 2 left!We said will take them!
For me, the best music reaches inside you, grabs hold of your soul and takes you wherever it wants to go, gives you goosebumps and brings a tear of joy to your eye. Here is a perfect example, thank God I'm alive and able to hear and feel this.
My absolute musical hero. Got so much love for this beautiful man called Elton John. Discovered him at the age of 11 in 1987 and have loved him ever since and the reason I play the piano too.

this concert was perhaps my favorite elton john show ive seen and heard. why? because i think this is the closest we ever got to seeing Elton as he really is as a person - no crazy costumes, no crazy hair or tinted glasses no band, just him at the piano playing and singing, with a little help from Ray.
wow!!!.... this is the original Elton or Reginald I fell in love to listening till I fell asleep... great classic (Levon) just wish Elton had the time to read these comments as there great to go back and find this original ideas and add libs... his style of country/ folk/ blues and soul combined is why he is so unique... i LOVE how at 1:43 Ray Cooper is flaying on the cymbals then tosses the mallets away and jams out on the bongos..... also ONLY Elton John could play an F7/A chord with such soul like he does at 1:52!
What in the world are you talking about? Are you talking about the lyrics? Because if you're talking about the music you're mad if you can say that after hearing him playing that awesome improvised solo at the end. Also, I don't know if you have hears for it but I just have to say Funeral for a friend and Tonight. Someone who composes those two songs has real talent man
