No matter the song, no matter the artist that he was performing with, Luciano always knew precisely when to join in! He was a perfectionist the likes of which we may never witness again.
The beauty of Elton John is he never tries to do the other guy's job, he sings all songs his way, even when singing with a powerful legendary voice as Pavarotti
Elton John is both an astonishing composer, up there with the best in history, but an extraordinary and generous performer who is happy to work with other greats. Both will be remembered as among the best the music world had to offer. John's creativity is just off the scale and he leaves others in the industry in the dust and they don't mind because he's Elton John and he deserves the adulation.
With the backing of Sheryl Crow, Liza Minelli, Eric Clapton in there playing guitar, and I'm not sure it isn't Joe Bonamassa in there in the sunnies.... ??? Anyway I'm sure there are others. What a crowd!! Awesome!
My husband admired Pavarotti, my daughter admired Clapton....I thus "met" them both, and love them......LOVE them......I'm a 75 yr old widow who is raising a 15 year old grandson, "special needs"(Autism)....and he is starting to appreciate music....I look forward to introducing him to these two together!
This is a wonderful video sung by two of some of THE 2 greatest artists/entertainers ever! I’m going on 70 years old and have been a pianist and organist since I was 5. My taste is extremely varied and I grew up playing classical music, but love all types. What a fabulous combination this is! Neither one has tried to overcome or outshine the other, which shows great respect. I’ve seen and heard so many songs where one of the lead singers (or even the instrumentals) have unwittingly, or intentionally, taken over, making it so difficult to hear the other singer and the actual song and lyrics. This is a 5 * video recording imo and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys music!
I'd put Elton John right up there as one of the greatest musicians of all time. He's just that good and has been for so long. And of course Luciano Pavarotti is his normal spectacular self here.
This is really unbelievable the great legends are together to bring joy to our hearts especially during these difficult moments of Summer Covid-19 in Florida.
I agree! I am now able to listen to him again, because I was so heart-broken when he left us I couldn't hear the beauty of his voice without crying. Now I feel blessed knowing I was fortunate to hear the greatest voice of all time IN MY LIFE!!
And I bet he is as gracious with them allowing them to share the stage as he was with so many find singers and performers here on earth. Music binds souls in joy.
This is such an amazing song. Everything about it is incredible. This song about freedom is fantastic. Elton is in great voice, his piano playing is wonderful...and Pavarotti is divine.
One of my absolute favourite Elton John songs and teamed up with Pavarotti, Eric Clapton and all those other wonderful artists, unbeatable. And great to see Lisa Minnelli and the lovely Sheryl Crowe on stage, too. A simply brilliant performance! Thank you.
Can we all just agree this is one of Elton John’s BEST? I adore it, and that message of freedom! May we all LIVE LIKE HORSES one day... god bless us all in our amazing awakening! Love you all! 💙🙏💫✨💜🙏 FREE HUMANITY! Someday...
My favourite genre's . I grew up with pavarotti from a child . And myself with Elton john. Honestly 2 of the most amazing singers ever. Legends are an understatement. Xxxxxxxx❤❤❤❤❤
In casa.....
Indeed but Elton John is also among the greatest composers of all time. He can sit down and create magic in a few hours armed only with his astonishing talent, a piano and the inspiration of words he is given. His performance of this song solo and live as an entire orchestra just sits there doing nothing while watching him is nothing short of amazing.
Gigantic masters of composition, interpretation and execution!!!! Unfortunately some of them have left this earth and some others are not doing good, but they are all IMMORTAL with their unbelievably exquisite talents!!! Elton John please live a thousand more years!! Humanity needs geniuses like Elton!!!!
A great quote of this fantastic song: Someday we'll live like horses, free rein from your old iron fences, there's more ways than one to regain your senses, break out the stalls and we'll live like horses. Someday..Thanks for the inspiration Sr. Elton John..
Semplicemente meraviglioso. Solo lui poteva riunire tanti grandi artisti in un unico concerto musicale. Saluti dal Brasile - Hamilton Silva.
D A M N !!!! ~ tears~ This cd is amazing and Luciano Pavarotti is the greatest ! Just seeing Cheryl Crow stare in "awe" says it all to me. The entire group was amzing and I still can't say enough about the choir ..... nailed it
Pavarotti had and his voice still has so much class. My fav was he sang with Jane's Brown, "it's a man's world" nothing can beat that. I cry every time I hear his voice
What i love most about Pavarotti's, besides his unmatched voice singing puccini which simple cant fail to raise goose bumps; is his true, genuine, and embracing LOVE of music. He didnt have a drop if elitism in him. Whatever type if music you sang- if you did it well- he reveled in it!!
OMG! Thought it was just me. I literally listened to this five times yesterday just to hear Pavarotti. So moving. Of course, EJ too. We certainly can't leave him out. I had never heard this song before. He's actually touring from his rescheduled tour during the first start of covid. I was Googling his top Duets and found this.
