Any time Horatio Sanz appeared on Weekend Update with Tina and Jimmy, you knew it was going to be hilarious!! I think Horatio is very underrated as a comedic performer. He and Jimmy always seemed like they were having so much fun together and the audience could sense it. Therefore, when they broke character, it made the sketch even funnier.

jimmy gets a lot of flack but this video is an example of why I loved this period of snl, you can see these two were just having a lot of fun and that's fun to watch.

Exactly. Tbh the Jimmy and Horatio skits cracked me up more than the skits where everyone stayed in character just because you can feel these guys were genuinely having fun and it rubs off on me. Their chemistry made the skits imo

I think this has just become my most re-watched SNL sketch on youtube... Sanz versions of these songs are so god damned catchy. Reminds me of 'Warewolf Bar Mitzvah' by Tracy Morgan and... probably Tina Fey's husband now that I think of it.

His singing does get some of Elton's style, not easy. The hands are silly as JF picks up on. Glasses are very good, but were they the no one will ever know you need glasses if there coloured sort? Bono fell in that trap as well. As a fan I do know EJ didn't write the words, but there good .

Horatio has to be my all time favorite on snl since Chris Farley. Both of them are geniuses when it comes to doing skits and making people crack up with the characters they play. Truly they are on their own level

Because was Jimmy’s pencil stemming supposed to represent Elton John Haters who dislike his music with a prejudice burning passion like the atrocious music hating main family from Pixar’s Coco?
