@@manwithnoname2175 lol, 4.6 views with 26K's likes. Yet this song rocks from the time it first came out. Just not understanding it. I seen some songs on YT I never seen of or heard of that get more recognition then this one. Just dont understand it. Must be getting old.
I used to say “hey grandpa what’s your favorite song” he’d say “I don’t remember what it’s called or who it’s by but it goes like this... Saturday Saturday Saturday” he would always sing the end no matter what day it was so this song is really meaningful to me
we should send this song somehow to play in space and put it in that gold disc nasa sent long ago, with a go pro jus to se how the aliens react to Elton John. XD
Welcome to the Metaverse even weirder it happens in the film the kingsman 2, which stars the same actor as the one who played Elton John in that film😂😂
I use to DJ at clubs. Whenever a fight broke out on a Saturday night I'd have this cued and ready. The owners didn't like it but I thought it was hilarious.
I like Elton John well enough, but this is his only song where I always crank up the volume when it comes on and often immediately want to listen to it again.
Sir Elton John is ALL ELITE! In all seriousness this is such a great song to have for a wrestling show and to have it for AEW Collision is absolutely amazing.
This song is 50 years old on June 29th, so nice to see it being listened to and respected, and what better way to hear this and be used for AEW Collision!
This was my brother's theme song!! I was just listening to a few other Elton songs and this rush of emotion came flooding in. He has been gone for over 2 years now, far too early. Here's to you brother!!!
There is only one way to describe the music of Elton John: UNIVERSAL. It doesn't matter if you like rock (like me), heavy metal (like me), pop, ballads or only listen to the radio. Elton John has the gift of grabbing everyone. Everyone can enjoy his music. There is hits and hidden gems, there is not only iconic songs but also iconic albums, there is music covering all sorts of genres. That's of the major reasons his music will stand the test of time. 50 years after his musical peak, he continues to attract new fans and touch people with his music. In 100 years, people will still listen to Elton John and be touched by his achievments just like we do with Beethoven and Mozart today
What would his music be like without guitarist Davey Johnstone? I think Johnstone is brilliant. His guitar work on Saturday Night’s Alright is going to last forever!😀
@@carolynking1625 GREAT AND EXTREME FULFILLMENT! much the same way you may get from asking WHY?! LOL!!! enjoy and be well. and someone we work with from Italy asked what the lyrics were so they could follow along. So very pleased you asked! so what could or would it matter? Be safe & well out there. smile and sing along.
@@MyelinProductions Thank you for explaining! I see people doing this on all the songs and another person was asking why it was done. So I figured I'd ask here. Then if she asks again I would have the answer when her question is ignored by the one doing the lyrics.
@@NewsHistorian Thank you for commenting on here tonight. I was in the mood for hearing this song but too lazy to look it up. You wrote and it appeared here ready to play! 7 o'clock too! Great timing!
This was one of my favorite songs from 1973. Used to blast the radio loud when this song came on. In those days, I had a cheap am/fm radio, so this sounds FREAKIN' AMAZING in stereo.
The first time I heard this song was in June of 1973 in my 68 Camaro while on a first date with this girl, and this song was playing in the background, and all she kept doing was talking over it. I told her to be quiet and blasted the song over her. She never saw me again.
@@FluffyIronGolems I like it, it was ok, thought I think it was a bit confusing that we changedn from age to age with songs, wich sometimes can be distracting, but the rest was ok, but is really Elton gay?
@@frank2185 Definitely one of my favorites. If you'd like, check out my last single: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VeP2dardrFc.html. I'd like to know what you think of it. It's not rock 'n roll but you may appreciate the guitar work. Thanks!
Sanford Stadium plays this every time Georgia plays a night game at home. 92,000 drunken fools screaming SATURDAY! SATURDAY!Always gets me crazy pumped anytime I hear it lol
I was there, too! Great, fantastic concert! He's coming back to the Tacoma Dome again on October 16 & 17 for his final show. Trying to decide especially because my birthday is October 17! :)
@@shutup5466 I would’ve even more so if all the super tall people standing in front of me sat down instead of blocking my view of the stage. But it was still fun. Now I have a chance to make it up by sitting in the lower rows of the nosebleed section right next to the stage.
This song takes me on a ride back to the 70s, as a kid from Chicago, listening to this on the radio station. I had the best childhood, growing up in the 70s, and the early 80s.
+Daniel Grooms No offense, but I think you would have liked this music more if your Mother hadn't raised you on it. This is music of rebellion, and part of the joy derived from it comes from saying no way to people in authority, including Moms and Dads.
@@MongalingalongI think I preferred Rocketman with its one person focus. Sure, some of the gay stuff was uncomfortable to watch but the movie's a great focus on one guy's rise to fame and dealing with drug and other problems while being an icon.
The "Elton John Band" of this era (John/Taupin + Davey Johnstone, Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson, Ray Cooper), was one of the greatest lineups, ever, period.
James Parker, +1. Yeah brother. 1973 was the pinnacle of the Elton John band. Such Awesome musicians playing at the very heights of their abilities. I was 18 when this came out. It is "Still" the greatest album of All Time in my eyes.
One of the greatest songs of all time. I remember opening the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album, with no idea of what I was about to hear. Dear God, the next 51 minutes was... beyond description.
He could really do hard-rock material well as anyone (or better). He always had a great feel for rhythm. The band were also top-notch. Dig that bass playing.
I'm glad this song was in Grand Theft Auto V because it's introducing a whole generation (admittedly my generation) to some awesome music. Hopefully this type of awesome returns to the mainstream so we font have to go searching so hard for it and so that newer generations can be inspired instead of degraded.
Best song for a Saturday night ever!! Seen him and the band do this album in concert back in 1974!! He is a show man for sure!!! Concert was a sellout!! What a night!! Who does not like Elton John?!? Rock on all!!😊
The part where he starts singing Wednesday Wednesday Wednesday and the guard says isn't it Saturday Saturday? Elton goes what day is it? The guard says Wednesday and Elton goes THATS RIGHT! I just cracked up laughing when he did that him fighting was pretty funny in its own right remember the movies is suppose to be a comedy with action in it.
"Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" It's getting late have you seen my mates Ma tell me when the boys get here It's seven o'clock and I want to rock Want to get a belly full of beer My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys And my old lady she don't care My sister looks cute in her braces and boots A handful of grease in her hair Don't give us none of your aggravation We had it with your discipline Saturday night's alright for fighting Get a little action in Get about as oiled as a diesel train Gonna set this dance alight `Cause Saturday night's the night I like Saturday night's alright alright alright Well they're packed pretty tight in here tonight I'm looking for a dolly who'll see me right I may use a little muscle to get what I need I may sink a little drink and shout out "She's with me!" A couple of the sound that I really like Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike I'm a juvenile product of the working class Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass
Thanks for putting the lyrics, Tony! When this song came out, I was young and listening to the song on my transistor radio and I didn't understand even 1/10th of the lyrics, and I didn't care. I loved the song because it was just WILD! I heard it about 500 times in 1973 on my transistor radio and I haven't heard the song since 1973, and I STILL didn't understand the lyrics, until I read the lyrics that you wrote down.
