I wake up and I feel I was stranded In a world that hardly represents me Step by step I collect all my nightmares Like a modern Renoir I'm painting my life away Don't you think that I'm not gonna worry Don't you think that I don't feel sorry Soon I'll find my way and I'll let you know Sitting down in my room I feel so empty Staring with lonely eyes at the words I am laying down With cold blood I swallow all the absinthe that you gave me That cold winter night Don't you think that I'm not gonna worry Don't you think that I don't feel sorry Soon I'll find my way and I'll let you know I feel a decadent poet Forced to bury his art - forced to bury his own heart Under the mud of a pigsty A cabal of murdered broken hearts Longing for my bitter taste Lost you, I have lost you, brother The strength you hid inside your eyes Makes me believe I can still live my life I learnt from the ashes Of the tears I dropped for all these years My love is now living, is living for real
Desde la primera vez que los escuché en el año 2017 me encantaron, ahora después de 7 años, aún me sigue gustando. son una gran bandaaaaaaaa, arriba y larga vida a ELVENKING, saludos desde Perú
no matter their styles of music i love elvenking they're one of my favourite bands.. i have no words for this band ye they are one of the rare bands with other mysic styles ...... if you like elvenking you'll like all their songs.. but if you know only 1,2 or 3 albums as a good folk/power metal band you'll hate them now
This band has changed a lot since I caught them on their first album all those years ago, then the next time I saw them was a long time after, catching their "Divided Heart" music video. I liked that song, but for me personally I smelled something was going wrong in terms of what I liked the band doing, and this video's really confirmed it. I'm going to lay off ad hominem attacks because I totally respect that there's a market for this stuff, and obvious people do love it, but I'm going to just have to hold on to the Heathenreel album and call it a day with these lads. Still glad to see they're doing well though, no one should want to see a good band fall flat on their arse just because the content they create is changing.
Nadine Kim of course not. He called it a day. Some songs on their newer new album are good too. They really did bring themselves back from their more alt. rock stuff.
Keep roc.K.I.N.G!!! ;) love ya Elvenking.. been hearing this band for many year's... they got some awsome song's. Ask if you wanna know some of the best :) Peace out folk's
I want another instrumental album, like Two Tragedy Poets did with The Scythe. I love their instrumentals and melody and rhythm changes that both characterize this band.
What I love most about Elvenking is that no matter what style they make each album, it is always exactly them. What I mean is, even though they are so different, I could listen to, say, Moonchariot, and then, perhaps, A Riddle of Stars or Romance and Wrath and -know- they were the same band, if I didn't already know that they were, if that makes sense. They always manage to make each album with their own signature sound, even if it always sounds different.
i love this band their lyrics are always so deep and always in line with my life!! have all their cd's!! and i want to know where he got his jacket omfg its so cool!!!
how can u change every time ur sound?u'are great it's hard to change every time urself...and u manage to do it, making always good music ^^ I'm waiting for the other songs
Elveking es lo mejor! Aunque su nuevo disco sea muy diferente a los demas me gusto demaciadoo el estilo que tomo este disco.. sigan asi son lo mejor!!!
yeh its freakin awesome!! i love they dont recycle themselves. each albums seems to fit with what id like to hear from them. they havent disappointed. they still have their sound. and this vids awesome. they found a great place/chick for it. whoa! dont even play guitar, but i want aydans and rafael's strap!! theres enough of the heathenreel/wryd sound without it being anything theyre done before. mad respect for that boys.
Elvenking has always been a romantic band. Whether you like their old stuff, The Scythe, or their latest works, it's always been Elvenking, and I've always liked it. People need to have an open mind.
I never loose my respect for a band that has released good albums, I like the song and I dont care for Damnas look I never heard anyone complain about the song before the video release but now...
@penguinofhell Perfectly right , most people expect a certain band to do remakes of old songs over and over and over again..Elvenking are excellent in the way that they do always change their style and deserve all respect for that... Cheers,
lol when i saw their pic on Encyclopedia Metallum i thought they were some kind of screamo band, but i have to admit they are beautiful, epic and power!!! Hail from Finland and keep the shining metal swords high in the sky!!!!
Everyone's just focusing on the vocalist looking like a gay. It's his own choise how to look like, right? Try to hear the lyrics. The music sounds so... alive, but there is so much pain, hiiden in the words that only a person who is involved with art (any kind of art!) would understand it and feel it. Before labeling someone for the way he looks like, try to hear what he's saying. Btw, he is also not a gay
+belmorra24 There's no problem on being gay. I love how these metalheads love to be the tough guys and call everyone gay when they clearly care for how a man dress like.
I really like their style. It comes across to me as power metal but modern alternative at the same time. Makes a nice change, although I do love my power metal, bands like Stratovarius and Avantasia
Elvenking has said that they'll never make the same album twice. If you're expecting EK to be what they were back at Heathenreel and Wyrd, just listen to those albums, pretend this never happened and shut the hell up. It sounds good, it sounds like Elvenking. What more can you ask for?
2017, new album, I like the singles so far but honestly... this is the Elvenking I fell in love with, I kinda wish they had followed this path in their sound instead on focusing so much on metal, see, when I discovered this band, this is what made them special to me, their music was so catchy and the melodies were so clear... well, their new music is still good though, but Red Silent Tides is their best album in my opinion.
elvenking try lots of different music. I knew them since the first album and first albums was very folk like the albums you refer to. than the shyte had a more hard sound. all albums are beautiful in my opinon, folk, dark (like the last one divination for example) and catchy.
You either love Elvenking or you don't. There is no in between. You can like only a certain album from them, but you really can't call yourself a real fan then. A real fan would love and support the band no matter what they do. Personally I love their new album. I would actually say it might be better than their early work in someways. I even loved The Scythe and Two Tragedy Poets.
I'm a big fan of the old Elvenking stuff, and even though i would've liked the album to be a little more folk oriented, I have to say they did pretty damn good with the direction they tool for this album. Hail Elvenking!
I agree. They've always said their albums will sound different with every release. Personally, I think this is their best album to date. I LOVED Two Tragedy Poets... but I fucking love this album.
I agree Holevyer, that's why Elvenking is so amazing. The fact that the band itself actually takes risks. If every album sounded the same, people would get bored. Personally the only album I don't really like is The Scythe. But even then I have to acknowledge the fact that it was a unique change of pace. Yes, their newest album is more mainstream but that doesn't mean that it sucks. It's still Elvenking, still Folk Metal and that's all that really matters.
@pushbroom333 I think the biggest problem for me, is not the the new look, not the new style, not the new content or stuff they sing about... but just the feeling and power that metal bands need to have. Its vital. I last heard it in full force on The Winter Wake.
i was disappointed with Dawnmelting, but as you go on it's definitely worth it :D so glad they're doing more videos. Thumbs up if EK are one of the BEST BANDS out there?
You know, a couple months ago i sent an email to Aydan about guitar styles and recomendations for practice and such His reply was actually entertaining and helpful, and made me feel better about not playing for hours on end It just goes to show that slight fame won't corrupt true musicians :)
@MonsterOfMusic : sad but true. Without mentioning the fact that Damnagoras' Leprechaun project was really good and the demo gave signs of hope; but now that he got back in EK, it's 6 feet under.. Anyway, Aydan is so stubborn that it isn't even worth trying to complain on the official forum... RIP Elvenking.
I think it will be a GREAT album, because i trust in these guys. The Scythe was different from all they did before, but it was DARK and HEAVY, so i liked it. Please dont let me down this time! Damnagoras you really have to look like a grown up emo? Dang.
elvenking has been my fave band for the last year since i listened to the winter wake i couldnt stop listening to it, and for the last year ive heard it every week at least twice or thrice, rite now im listening to it about once a day or maybe every 2 days. It the best album ive ever heard, it never gets boring. i ididnt like the scythe, but this song sounds a bit promising, i mean it has some folk in it, maybe the album includes songs more folkish ya know.
