I think both of your meals look delicious, I'd eat either of them. I'm a huge chicken salad fan, but I've never had it with apple, I usually add red grapes to mine, but next time I make it I'm going to add some apple to it. I have a friend who's husband loves his tuna salad with chopped green apple in it, so when I think of it that way it doesn't sound to weird. Like Bobbi, I'm a total pickled beet fan, we always had them growing up, sure wish mine tasted the way my mom's use to taste. That cobbler sure looks like a great way to end a meal. Elviras never disappoints. Have been going there since she opened. Great job you captured the feel of the place. Excellent food and people. When Elvira is there she comes around and visits with you. Super sweet lady. You just can't go wrong with any of Miss Judy's desserts. Like you said fresh food like your Momma cooked it. Great job J &B. Really happy you enjoyed it.
Your meals looked so good. We have eaten at Elvira's once and that was for lunch. We loved it. Since we only come to the Smokies about twice a year we try to go to eat at places we haven't tried yet. Bobby's chicken salad sandwich looked so good and there was plenty of it. I was thinking about the time that I got chicken salad at Paula Deen's Bag Lady restaurant that was at the Island in Pigeon Forge for awhile. I got her chicken salad sandwich. It was ok but there wasn't much chicken salad on the sandwich. Elvira's chicken salad sandwich looked so much better! My husband and I both love blackberry cobbler and Elvira's looked really good. We were in Pigeon Forge for a few days this week. We ate at Johnny Carino's restaurant Monday evening in Pigeon Forge. When we came out of the restaurant we saw a car with an Elvis license plate. It made me think of the 2 of you!
Wheat berries are the same as whole wheat. It's just the entire edible part of wheat kernel. The germ and bran is still intact. Nothing is stripped from the wheat kernel so it's a bit healthier than regular whole wheat bread. Nuttier tasting.
I hope to get down to that area someday, it looks so peaceful and cozy. Thank you for the great video, I love watching all the wonderful places you both go to. I think it's funny that John always comments on how much food is served. Eat up John, you only live once.

So great!!! Will try when I go back in the spring. I saw Elviras when I was there in March but didn't stop. Love the outdoor seating! A lot of changes in Wears Valley since I lived there's years ago, best place on earth to live, in my opinion, I'll order the liver, ham and chicken salad! Thanks again ❤
