Wow you saw him, bet he was absolutely amazing !! I was only around 8 when he passed away, me and me Mam were devastated, we only Elvis fans in our family, my youngest sister likes some of his music. But listening with my mam Elvis just became part of my soul and still is and I'm 51, he will always be in my heart & soul until I shuffle of this mortal coil.
@@MartynStubbsTBS I was only around 8 when he died, me and my mam were devastated, I think everyone was in a state of shock, the newscaster at the time which was either bbc or itv was so choked up he could hardly speak I remember that I probably wasn't watching the news, upstairs in my bedroom and me Mam shouted me down and I thought mam what's wrong and she told me, still got that shiver down my spine, I still can't watch his funeral if it comes on my dvds they go off and some of his songs i fill up with knot in my throat. Bless him, his memory still going strong, he gains new fans every year !!! He was the best singer and actor (in the decent films) saying that he kept going and being professional in the films, even though you can imagine him being unhappy inside..
I am always very pleased to listen to stories about Elvis from people who knew him personally and spoke of good things about him because that is what he was- a good and generous man.
You get the most interesting interviews. Such nice people who reminisce about Elvis. What a real gentleman. Loved when he met him. It’s nice to hear these stories, since there’s not too many left to tell theses wonderful tidbits. What a sweet man he seems to be. There was one song that many biographers state they felt an autobiographical song( not in the Jungle Room) was Pieces of My Life. This was one of the few songs he’d listen to over & over again, which he rarely did. It’s a revealing song if you listen to it. What a shock to learn he passed that way for him. Bless him. What a nice man. 😀😀
Thank you for your kind comments. I consider myself lucky everytime someone from the Elvis world agrees to speak with me. I agree Larry Strickland is a Gentleman. Another guest I was bowled over with was Barbara Hearn his Girlfriend from 1956...such a lovely woman. If you haven't heard it yet please give it a listen
I was driving in my Moms drive way. I parked the car and sat in the car crying. I got inside and my mother asked me why I was in the car so long? I Told her so we changed her tv to Get more info. I was so surprised it took me a while to really let it sink in.
I miss ELVIS Presley so much. My heart broke on 8-16-1977 💔 💔 I loved him then now, and forever, there will never be another Elvis Presley he was one and a million. 💔 😢 SINCERELY, KAREN JETTERS
The first time I heard JD do that I didn't even know it was a human voice. I wondered for a long time what kind of instrument they were using to make that sound.
I have had a wonderful time listening to Larry’s interview. Know wonder Larry was such a good friend to Elvis. They seem to be about the same as honest, caring, respectful, loves to sing, mannerly, love in his heart and soul, southernly charm, and an all around Great Guy. Thank u for having him on!!!!! I love to hear from u. God Bless U and yr Family. Have a Blessed Holiday Season and stay Face.
Elvis had amazing back up singers, he used them to perfection. It's an art that was lost when he died. No one uses back up singers anymore. He used them in a way that it would want you to join in and sing along with them.
Hi there Steve, and thankyou so very much for bringing us this great interview of this lovely man who was Elvis's bass player.. He sounds like a true gentleman, the kind that Elvis would choose .. So many great memories we are hearing thanks to you, Steve...👏👍🌹.. Keep up this great work, & keeping Elvis's memories alive...we will have these for eternity for sure... Blessed greetings from ; 🌹💓🏵️🌺🌹 Victoria. Australia..🇦🇺👍🌹💖🏵️🌺🌹
I thought Larry Strickland was Elvis's bass singer, with the Stamps! One comment about him being the bass player was a mystery to me, or did i miss something?
I was 13 years old in my house at the time listening to the radio and dancing when I heard the announcement of his passing! Even at that age I was in shock! And saddened because I used to listen to his music a lot when I was about 10 years old I used to play my guitar in my bedroom listening to his albums and trying to strum it like he did.
Great job Steve . Enjoyed very much. You and Larry interacted perfectly. Was amazed how quickly you were able to make this happen . Keep up great work. You share your Elvis channel with all us fans of not only Elvis but Steve fans as well. Thanks to Larry Strickland for sharing personal family history and Elvis experiences.
Great interview steve what a lovely man Larry came across was hanging on to every word you hit it on the head steve when you said we are losing the elvis people every year that’s why we should be thankful to Larry and you Steve for telling the storie thanks Steve TCB ADIOS
Isn't that such a coincidence that his experience of loving quartets and gospel music paralleled Elvis experience and their common thread wasJD Sumner! Amazing! It was meant to be!
What a great guy ,you can hear he had great respect for EP ... I have heard that story before ..( we're did you get the farmer) lol.. he looks really well .. great Steve... what about ... Norbert putman ..he will have some stories to tell.
Larry was married to The iconic Naomi Judd of The Judds. Unfortunately she passed away this Spring 2022. Way to go Larry, God be with you. He lives right out of Nashville. Has been working on new album.
Awesome 👏🏻 back up singer. I just listened to the beginning of songs he has on an album 💿 Now I’ll listen to what he has to say. Thank you 👍 as I recently subbed. I never followed Elvis..only past year started to listen to many people close to him. He was 10years older then myself, but warnings came from many Priests, Preachers and lay people..back in the 60’s. It was his gyration of hips etc. ⚠️ warnings to young people intensified when he began showing up on TV.. I love GOSPEL MUSIC…played accordion 🪗 for years..even leading song services at my church ⛪️. Many anointed songs back in the 60’s to 90’s. Thank God there are some new songs that we know are under the anointing of the Holy Spirit 🎶🙏🎶 📖””””We are in the world 🌎, but scripture says not to be part-Of The World”””” Discernment is needed more today-then ever in the True Believers life. The Spa Guy went to Pastor Bobs house and got it on audio and video of the Pastor saying he was not Elvis. Look up Spa Guy’s videos they are very good on Elvis Presley information and locations
I really enjoyed this Steve, I listened to half and was going to watch second half. Cos had stuff to do them I forgot bloody memory issues. He was such lovely man for to speak to,not sure if you say but just to say thank you to all the Elvis people who come on to talk to you and us listeners, these interviews are great Steve thanks again my friend x And also my mug came I love it, it's really good quality, I said to my hubby and Son so no breaking it right lol my hubby is good at breaking stuff. So did you do that design, I like the effect it wrote his name t.c xx
@@Elvisultimatefanchannel of course I will, I never got a t-shirt, because I always seem to drop or spill stuff on them, it's like they got magnets !!! Hey come on I'm nice and white spill something ha ha plus suffering with menopause I say no more lol
So Larry was at the recordings done at the mansion right? So he would be the Bass vocal on the song way down then, at the end of the chorus Elvis would sing that's way on down and then right behind him was the deep Bass vocal singing way on downnn.. how cool is that! 😮
@@Elvisultimatefanchannel JD Sumner the deepest voice on the planet! Thank you for clearing that up for me I kind of figured it was JD all these years but I didn't know the stamps had another Bass vocalist also..
Sounds like a very nice person. So glad Elvis had somebody nice to watch his back instead many others who just like to make money from Elvis,' name. He sounds like a really nice person.!!!! God bless!😀
Lovely man. I am surprised he would come to meet Elvis dressed that way. But it may have been all he had to wear at the time. Elvis loved those deep notes.
Larry said in an another interview that all the young people were wearing them at that time, they were fashionable and Larry thought he was being 'hip' wearing them.
Yes hello kiss me again Carl just like to say I like your video your plane had a lot of interesting stories in it not so get them while you can cuz I can say paper dropping like flies same story you got screwed for the world Elvis Presley had two angels on shoulders an angel from heaven Carl Garnett Scarborough Ontario Canada Toronto TCB
Bob mostly sounds like you would expect an 80 something Elvis, who is singing casually and not really trying to sound like his younger self, to sound. His professionally recorded songs are spot on though.
He can't be Elvis! The age difference would tell u that! Elvis's family & close friends say Elvis was in that casket & only Elvis. Bob Joyce tells u he's not Elvis...believe him! The year Elvis was born is all the evidence u need. Common Sense!
If you spend time actually listening to Bob's sermons, you would find he says everything you would expect him to say, if he were Elvis, short of actually saying he is Elvis.
I believe Elvis Presley like to talk to people that were raised in a Gosple way a loved Gosple songs. The other's he hung around was a bad influence on him and only wanted to party a I don't believe deep down Elvis Presley was like that I believe his passion was Gosple songs not tock a roll that was just to please his fans a make a living I believe Elvis Presley was more into The country Gosple old fashioned way. I believe he was a good Samaritan a loved to help people a make them Happy. I believe he became a singer a movie actor mostly to help a support his parents he got tired of seeing them struggle a do without. Elvis Presley was a good a spiritual humble soul.
