There was a book. written by his boy guards. That I understand did not put him a good light. describing the women at the house and the drugs and parties.
@@mjnpictures7468 Nothing wrong with enjoying life, especially when you are employing so many people. Not to mention the gifts he gave to seemingly everyone.
Elvis took Mary out for a drive one day, just her and Elvis, him driving and she in the passenger seat - he pulled up to a house for sale - he asked Mary is she liked the house, she said she loved it and Elvis bought it for her - she lived there till her passing -- RIP Elvis and Mary
Endearing , just like I said. I feel Dave was making everything about them a joke. Desrepectful and I didn't like it. He over talks his guest on there , its just wrong.
@@llndadischer7689 never seen this interview , and I agree with you , dumb Letterman making a joke on Elvis food likes . Letterman leave Elvis alone you disrespectful person . ! Just saw the Elvis movie ! Never cared so much for him ! But after the ,movie I see why people loved him . And also I admire him so much now for two more reasons. He sang Guadalajara in Spanish in a movie. That song is a treasure to my birth place . And the song " If I can dream "..❤❤ I now have become a fan of Elvis .
Mary reminds me a lot of my mother in law. She had a picture of Jesus a picture of Martin Luther King and a picture of Elvis in her home, Beautiful lady. Elvis was a special person.
Elvis was a good hearted God Loving person. This woman knew that and honored him thru her words. Letterman and a few in that audience that night acted like a bunch of condescending fools.
This was one of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever heard of in my life! God bless this wonderful woman! King Elvis brought this woman a beautiful house. What a blessing that she was able to cook for the King! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Typical liberal elitist. I wish people would wake up to all these types, especially those in office. They mock minorities and the underprivileged while pretending to be their benefactors. They are the biggest racists and it’s time people see them for what they are. Just power hungry and needing to keep people down so they have someone to elect them on their phony promises to make their lives better.
@Cajunomics Yes it is very sad that people just want to talk trash about Elvis even though there are videos and people talking about Elvis being a good person. I totally agree.
I know this is irrelevant to the video but as a huge Elvis fan I get very offended when someone makes fun of him or try’s to degrade him. It’s rare you hear people call him racist (which is absolutely ridiculous) but isn’t this another example to prove them wrong ?? “Did he treat you very well ?” “Couldn’t wanted to be treated no better” and he bought her a house.
I am on an honest search to find someone who personally interacted with Elvis, even for a few minutes who will say something bad about him...yet I can find no one. And I've been looking for years now. I honestly would love to hear someone say "He was a jerk to me" and prove it. There is likely no other person on this planet, especially a celebrity who seems to have legitimately walked the walk of their beliefs. Maybe the Dalai Lama? In fact, not only are people not even neutral about him, they are unanimously forceful in stating how kind he was. And in a truly genuine way, not some hollywood way. I don't know how he physically did it. Additionally, if what my personal research has shown is true, its fundamentally impossible that he was a racist. You simply can't hold those two beliefs at the same time. He was kind and generous to everyone. That level of humanity doesn't allow for racism. And all his other actions clearly disprove it.
@@sfmc98 The lies and insults against elvis presley, ALL come directly from democrats. Most left-wing democrats are mentally disturbed. They voted for Alzheimer's Joe and low IQ harris for christ's sakes.
He grew up with Black friends, obviously drew a lot of inspiration from their music, stood up for Blacks in his crew during segregation, and basically sang this song as a tribute to MLK Jr after he got shot... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u-pP_dCenJA.html
Pretty cool; never saw this while I know Elvis bought Mary a house, too. They were very close as he often liked to sit and have the staff sing with him while he played the upright organ or piano.
The audience want to laugh it up but those sandwiches were AMAZING. I know as they are one of my faves LOL. I adored Mary, and Elvis was and is my fave male singer of all time.
@@BBBYpsi Of course moving to a different state would be impossible. Everyone knows that so that is not what she meant. Carolinas was only saying that "it's still in Tennessee" because she was saying that to say they have not torn it down or nothing has happened to it, that would have damaged it to the point that it isn't there anymore. Anything can happen to a house that can cause it not to be there anymore. ...vandelism, burning down, anything...
I went to Graceland recently, which was an experience of a lifetime. The employees were phenominal, true "Southern Hospitality". I thought of Mary as I viewed the kitchen. RIP Elvis and Mary.
No other celebrity has had every private moment of his life scrutinised so much. From how he slept to if he laughed and what he’d say and how he treated his friends to what he ate . Everyone leeching off him decades after he sadly passed away from the vampires who preyed on him. Letterman’s goal was to humiliate his memory like many others but Mary handled him very well .
The fact that Elvis cared about a lady of colour definitely shows his heart was in the right place, one of the luckiest ladies in the world no wonder shes got a smile from ear to ear.
The audience is terrible. So rude. Before anyone blames this on being a NY thing btw (since the show is taped there) I'd just like to say this show had people from all over the Country in the audience. These people just have no manners. I didn't appreciate them laughing at her. I don't see what was so funny? She handled herself with class regardless. Lovely woman and she had a beautiful smile. I see why she was one of Elvis' favorites and I'm glad he seemed to treat her well. You can tell she respected and loved him as well.
Mary Jenkins is such a sweet and funny lady. It sounds like she really liked Elvis and she liked working for him. I love her Southern Accent. She is so 😍 cute.
Why the hell is everyone laughing? Somebody can be the nicest most talented person in the world, but if you gain weight everyone can bully you? What the fuck
She was an amazing person and Elvis trusted and loved her. The audience is ignorant. Food was one of the few pleasures he got in life. He was in such bad health. And had a lot of people who didn’t serve him well. But not her. He bought Mary a house and loved her.
Elvis had an incredible gift for the love of life , music and people. It stayed with him always. You cannot fake the emotion he put into his music, it was from the ❤️ heart. God Bless 🙏 Mary for her devotion to him.🌷😍🎶🎵🇺🇸🇩🇰🌅
Old Elvis my grandmother and her friends Elvis Presley's full movies and I like the Elvis to myself we watch a lot of Elvis movies in the 1960s Elwood theatre good part of my life growing up as support from the '50s to the 60s can you play the big part of my life always like testing to Elvis songs on my cassette and by nice car driving all around New Zealand that was such a long time ago rest in peace Elvis have a good sleep until the resurrection
I think it was the BBC who had a documentary on her and all the different things she cooked for him. She mentioned that he bought her a house that she was living in at the time.
I remember watching this BBC documentary when it aired back in 1996 Towards the end of 2021 both the BBC and SKY ARTS aired a lot of the documentaries again. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
@@Phoenix85006 Yes you are right I have googled it and it was a BBC ARENA documentary When even in 1996 the BBC were at the top of their game Sadly not now🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧⚡️⚡️❤️❤️
I get tired of so many thinking there was bacon in the sandwich. I've tried correcting people for 40 years but they believe they are right. I wish I knew who started this crazy rumor!
I didn't like this interview. I don't understand what DL is on about. This lady has done shows before and she speaks so well of Elvis. I feel like DL is taking the mickey out Elvis and the audience are braying like donkeys to his sniggering remarks. 👎
I thought Dave was just Dave not disrespectful or anything like that just Dave and yes what a delightful Lady Mrs Mary was who truly loves Elvis as do most of us he was cool to say the least my brother called him his Dad and looked up to him like he was his hero
