The fountain was built in 1835 (100 yrs before Elvis...LOL). The Hotel was built in 1607 and renovated in 1994. It`s such a joy traveling with you and getting all this information.
Hi Billy, this little town is named "Idstein". Close to Wiesbaden, one of the old, medieval town/ villages in the middle Rhine area and hotspot for us German fans. Nice that you brought this to all the fans in the States. Greetings from Germany and keep up the good work!

Gee...Germany has some very unique colorful buildings. The town looks so quaint and cozy. I would love to visit there someday. Interesting facts you uncovered there too. Elvis' double really looks like him from a distance...I guess that's why he was his double...Ha! Fantastic film footage! Thank you!
Hi Spa Guy, I am from upstate New York and last week vacationed in Nashville and Memphis. I am so happy I found your channel. Graceland was wonderful and full of so much history, but your channel takes Elvis history to the next level, with such awesome in-depth study of the places Elvis walked, lived and performed. This is a wonderful resource for fans of Elvis, and I thank you sir for showing us these priceless videos! I can't wait to go back to Memphis knowing all of this special knowledge of Elvis and his journey. Keep the videos coming my friend, they are awesome!
You done it again Spa Guy. Wish Elvis visited Australia. Would have been a double whammy. Seeing Elvis and then catching up with you. Take care. That part of Germany so beautiful. Houses look like doll houses. 🙏🏼
Geez that guy looked like Elvis. Great research and video! I love trains to, I wish you would have went in the train store and filmed....Lol. Great job as always Billy!
This is just as much fun as part one :} !!!! I did like to see all of the locations of the filming . Now I need to see the movie again :}. I dint know about the double ? great info thank you . And God bless :}. !!!
Beautiful Wiesbaden Germany ! Yes, reminds me of "Bush Gardens" at Disney World. Brings back memories of Germany for me. I miss the guest houses and food the most of Germany. Thanks for sharing where Elvis' movie, GI Blues, was filmed. Cool ! Thanks for bringing back the memories of Germany. "GI Blues" is a favorite movie of his for me. "Blue Hawaii" being my favorite. Hope you enjoyed Germany. Maybe see if some of the other actors in the "GI Blues" movie are still around and willing to tell their stories...cool ! Thank you Mr. Spa Guy.
@@SpaGuy Well, Germany is where all these fairy tales came from. Rapunzel, Hansel & Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, .... So sure it reminded you of Disney XD
Thank you Billy. I appreciate your work. Next place i will visit Idstein. It doesnt matter he wasn't there in person. But it has something, that was in his film. Last weekend i was at the Elvis Festival in Bad Nauheim. Finally the bronze statue was placed on the bridge. Best regards from Germany
While travelling around Florida back in the 90's I was staying in a Motel one night and 'Follow That Dream' came on and I watched it. The next week or so I was leaving Florida going north on 98 and after the town Inglis crossed a road called 'Follow That Dream PKWY' I was like...."No It Couldn't Be". I turned around and went east toward the gulf and sure enough there it was ( all overgrown with shrubs and brush) the little bridge where they "Squatted" the land...lol. It was a super fun feeling to just happen across it. I live in AZ now and I know there was a studio east of Apache Junction where Charro to was filmed.
Very interesting Hal Wallis came to Europe ready to film some supporting scenes for the next Elvis movie obviously believing a lot of people wanted to see Elvis on the silver screen again and investing a sizable sum in pre-production, yet Elvis was always plagued by a fear the public would forget him.
Very interesting video. Shame they didnt have Elvis go back to Germany to film that movie. Have of our own little piece of Elvis history here in Scotland, when he stopped on his way home from Germany, a few miles down the road from me😂
Thank you sir for that wonderful video so they did the filming but Elvis was never there? Other then his army days ? I love looking at all the old buildings and colors!! Thanks TCB
Awesome information about Elvis ' s life as it adds another piece of the puzzle. It is so great that you would travel to Germany to check all that out and film the area . It looks very beautiful there. The buildings are just georgious in color and shape. Thanks Spa Guy for all your dedication to Elvis ' s memory and for sharing this video with us. Much appreciation always!!☺👍🎬🎥
President Trump just awarded Elvis the medal of fredem. Amazing 41 years later Elvis is still being honoured for all his work and his service in the army.
Hey Billy have you ever talked to the people in Texas we’re Elvis would go to there house while station at the base there and if you did have you seen the place ?
Thank you my friend.
Prior to viewing this video, my understanding was that Elvis continued his regular duties as a jeep driver with a scout platoon of the 32nd Armor and was not even around for any of the film-shooting in Germany. Every shot of Elvis in "G.I. Blues" was filmed at Paramount Pictures studio after his discharge from the Army in March of 1960. PFC T.W. Creel (8-3-1935 to 8-17-2014) of Laurel, Mississippi, was Elvis' double in the Germany filming. I have a picture of Creel but don't know how to post it here.
These shot I filmed were filmed while Elvis was still in Germany but he was still in the army at the time and where these shots were is not far from Bad Nauheim.. I feel they were trying to hold true to Elvis not doing anything while in Europe per the Colonel..
Spa Guy I lived in Mannheim, south of where Elvis lived, when my dad was stationed there in the Army (1956-1960). We actually went to Elvis’ house in Bad Nauheim and saw him standing on the back stoop surrounded by fans - couldn’t get very close but close enough! A second time we drove to Ray Barracks in Freiburg and caught him as he was driving out the main gate. He actually pulled over and obliged us with pictures and autographs! Both incidents occurred in 1959. These were definitely highlights in my life!
I’m confused by this as Elvis filmed GI Blues at paramount studios in the U.S. and he did no filming in Germany, in fact filming started after he had returned to the states. It’s true that Hal Wallis visited Elvis in 1959 to discuss the movie and he did do some background and military footage but Elvis himself did no filming. Although this is very interesting I’m afraid, (unless you know something I don’t) that I don’t think Elvis was at these actual locations in the movie, he may have appeared to be, as you say with a stand in and some post production trickery, but I’m pretty certain he wasn’t.
@@SpaGuy hi, yes I did watch the video and am a big fan of all your Elvis related videos so didn’t mean to offend. I know you explained the use of a stand in but it’s only confirmed in the comments and not in the video that Elvis was never there, and as these videos are following in his footsteps I found it a little confusing that’s all. Anyway keep up the good work, as I say I’m a big fan.
Daniel, I mention Mr Creel in this video.. Email me I would like to know more about him and maybe even speak to the family.. Thanks, Spa Guy billy@thesgnetwork.com
Spa Guy you are up early today thanks for taking us fans down Memory Lane once again I wonder what the woman was asking you? My question is .,... Elvis's body dbl is he Still Alive?
Spa Guy Wow you know the Lowdown on the Elvis scenario. Did you ever check out any of his kin to find out what type of relationship he had with Elvis that would be quite interesting Thx once again 4 bringing it to us EP Fans we can't get enough! 🤙💕
