Around the same time Marty played backup for Elvis this film was shot. This is a Kenpo Demonstration. Any negative comments about Elvis will be deleted as this is for Elvis fans.
Elvis was a badass. He became a 3rd degree black belt ! He put Alice Cooper on his back and took a gun away from him in 5 seconds. ---Frank Taormina , fan since 1956.
Very risky in case something happened and he damaged his throat or vocal chords. Thank God nothing did. I know he didn't spar because he didn't want to have an injury to his face. But to risk that voice - oh my.
Judging by his level of skill in this demonstration, he didn't spar because it would look bad to have an 8th degree black belt getting embarrassed by a yellow belt smh.. This is a joke and an embarrassment to real martial artists
Impressive; authentic; thank you, for the video. It is good to see Elvis outside of the music performance or a movie engaged is something about which he is passionate. Do you know when, where, and at what event this took place?
Authentic? 😆 Authentic BS. You obviously have absolutely no clue how fake this is. He paid someone to give him an 8th degree black belt and made a mockery of martial arts
This is to the individual who left the unfavourable comment. You say Elvis made a mockery of martial arts. So what, nobody's perfect. It's what he did for music that counts. Now you can't take that away from him.
@@BreadCatMarcus You are completely missing the point. Someone who has a fighting instinct does not ever need to be rescued as they will fight versus getting picked on
@@wyldvigilante He gave hundreds of Cadillacs away in his life time...Basic knowledge about him. He just liked to surprise people and see the smile on their faces. That`s all. More likely the same with his Karate-Coach if he taught him well.
I don`t think that would have been fair. I love Elvis Presley and everything he did - i sing his songs as a streetperformer in my hometown Berlin, Germany....but Steven Segal i believe is a whole other level.
@@cameronb8284😂 right? Neither of them are even real martial artists... Go out with Steven seagal and get him in a fight and let me know how well thai chi works as a legit self defense lol... It's what old Koreans do in the park to stay active
It’s wonderful to watch. Love his jazzed up Karate suit! He was so passionate about Karate and demonstrated his craft well. Elvis was in the process of making a documentary or movie about Karate. But it got shelved for some reason, probably by the Col. The world did not get to see the full potential of Elvis aand his passion for Karate.
The first time that Elvis and Ali met, Elvis told him he loved Karate. Ali told Elvis you are too pretty to be a fighter, keep doing what you are doing. Elvis jumped up and Ali jumped up in a fight stance. Everyone was fearing and Elvis slid his leg behind Ali so quickly that nobody knew until Ali was on his ass and they both were laughing. Elvis knew his karte.
@@harrisdupree3323 Yes, it happened. The event was spoken about while Ali was alive. Elvis Presley was a great friend of Ali. Elvis Presley stayed at Deer Lake compound with Ali in Pennsylvania many times. Know what you're talking about before posting because those that actually know about Elvis Presley just laugh at your nonsense.
Garfit Gar jealous by any chance the bloke was so cool cor what a bloke!! and yes a black belt in karate people just can't stand the fact that is people who are jealous of him even 40 years after he died yep!! Still jealous dear oh dear how sad and pathetic
@@ccdsds3221 What a horrible person you are.!! My goodness horrible .🇬🇧really, really horrible.to say something so horrible about this great man who died over 40 years ago, I’d say definitely jealousy.😊
Elvis Presley had surgery to have an ingown nail removed from a big toe. Kenpo is a system of karate that can be adopted to suit the practitioner. Elvis Presley also trained in Korean Pasaryu karate.
The application of Martial Arts is to help you grow as a person in life following a path of realisation and then that enables you to defend yourself in precarious situations after years of training, against an assailant in the street. It is quite another concept to step into a ring and fight an opponent!!! I love Elvis and his carreer as a performer, I love the Fact that he followed Martial Arts as a passion in improving Himself as a Human being and for self defense. Elvis had a heap of trained bodyguards around him at all Times!!! In the last instance if something would happen Elvis could apply what he learned!!! However Let Elvis step into a ring and go fullout against Bill Wallace, I'm afraid Wallace would have killed him!!!! I also think the same if Elvis would have fought the West brothers no holds barred and all out!!!! But that was not why Elvis lived his life
Marty passed in 2011, but from what he and other musicians have told me.. He played Sax on the horn band that played background in "I washed my hands in muddy waters". If you listen to the re-released version with original interments in the song you can hear him. I said it was around the same time (early 70's) when he was on the song. One thing has nothing to do with the other except it was around the same time and Elvis was involved.
oh wow! thanks for that. It's the first time I came across this little bit of treasure. I'm so glad it's up here. Thanks for your reply :) much appreciated. Are your related to Marty or Were you, friends? There is a guy who does videos on Elvis history and maybe he could do a story on Marty? Here is the videos he has done so far on Elvis: ru-vid.com/group/PLL837DYh2k5T2TTUdqxb7bmcmdTeuxT1p
Yes/ seen collars/ but but he has some good moves/ I studying kenpo/ for about 1 year/ mist self defense tech..he got them down/but I've stuck withTKD/ must say/ it works fine Robert 🙂RHTKDBBA
Real ... I seen real demos of Kendo . Seen a Karate master stick a 12 inch needle through his neck on TV and then went to his Hialeah, Fl USA dojo and do it live and I saw It! .. Elvis was a real master and no joke!
@@wyldvigilante Yeah sure...Where did you get that information from? Is that the reason why Ed Parker was his coach for many years - because Elvis was such an embarrassment for him?🤣😅😂
@@naturestone3148I think the bigger question is WHY DONT YOU KNOW THAT ? WHy THE ATTITUDE? Why are you so bothered that someone knows something you don’t? You think if you are ignorant about something it simply doesn’t exist? You need to check yourself with that attitude
@@wyldvigilante Thxs Bro. Have a good time studying ducks and making up statements about 8th Dan Karatemasters.☝️You are bored...I assume, just trolling around... I don‘t have to prove that Elvis Presley was a skilled Karate blackbelt. The facts are clear. You made the childish statement that his Karate is worth nothing and that a coach that trained him for years saw him as an embarassement. I have to prove the statement you made? ☝️🤔 How does that make sense? What do you think i will find if I google or write in the RU-vid searchbar: „Was Elvis Presley“s Karate effective as a duck? Or: Was Elvis Presley an embarassement for Ed Parker“s Kenpo? I will find: Nothing☝️ Only links about Elvis Presley kicking 3 dudes of the stage at a Liveconcert in Las Vegas with his „DUCKLIKE“ Karate skills. ☝️😎💪💪💪❤️ Go and troll the next DEAD Legend if it makes you feel good. 🙏🙏🙏 I don’t have to take someone serious that wants ME to prove the BS you made up.
