Thank you to whoever captured this footage and for the upload. I saw that legendary black and white coat and many other outfits at the recent Elvis exhibition at London Bridge. I was in awe of everything, thr jumpsuits, the cars, the gold plated mic, telephone and THE GOLD BELT, just couldn't afford the ticket to hold it unfortunately. It was like being in the Church of Elvis. I didn't want to leave. Inexplicably talented, yet to be matched or surpassed for vocal range and musical visionary. Love him til the day I die. Can't wait for Lisa-Marie's book and for the hologram concert AND for the 4 hours unseen footage that Baz found while making the recent Elvis film. All fan captured footage also needs to be collated and restored. I don't ever want to run out of Elvis footage. The world owes it to itself and to the memory of Elvis never to forget him. Long live the King ❤
this was such a fantastic 74 show! elvis was in great spirits & wearing one of my favorite suits he looks fantastic! thank you for the wonderful upload:)
Thank you so much for posting this, I was there for all 3 shows, 2 Sun 6/30 and this one Mon evening 7/1. I bought a cd on ebay about 15 years ago, but it's a different format and won't play on my current player. It's unbelievable to me that this was 50 yrs ago this summer, I was 15 and those were the most magical 2 days of my life. We spent all day before this concert at the Hilton a block away, Elvis had the 16th floor, and we'd tried the day before between shows trying to get there, we got there but one step off the elevator and we were blocked and sent back down, we met the Sweet Inspirations and Jackie Kahane in the restaurant, they invited us to sit with them and they were so nice, but not nice enough to introduce us to Elvis 😢 the same with Charlie Hodge, we rode in the elevator with him and he was sweet as could be but again the answer was "No" 😢 we decided we would have several hours the next day to find a way. We really thought we had a successful plan, we found the freight elevators, 2 side by side, they went to the garage and were how Elvis got to and from his floor. We decided if we left as soon as he started his last song and ran we could take one to the garage as He was returning from the show. It worked, we got there, took it down and hearts pounding we waited for the doors to open, the elevator stopped, I was finally going meet the man who had been the center of my life since I was 5 and saw him on tv in "Follow That Dream", the doors slid open and shaking we stepped out, and like frickin ninjas, poof there they were again guiding us back and escorted us back to the lobby and as they walked us to the door, told us just how close we'd come, he said as our doors were opening, Elvis's doors were closing, soo soo close. That was our last chance because he was flying out that night. Then as we were walking back to our car we passed the open doors of the Hotel garage and sitting there all alone, was the limo that Elvis rode in, then I was standing beside it and reaching for the door, the back was locked but the drivers door wasn't and then I was in the seat, reaching back just to touch where he had sit, and of course the door in front of the car opened and who steps out but the same ninja, who had foiled me at every turn all day. He just shook his head, and tried not to laugh as once again, for the final time he escorted me out. My magical weekend that had taken 6 months, 1st campaigning and collecting signatures to show Mancuso, the Auditorium Manager that YES! People WOULD come to see Elvis! We were a group of 15 -20 that had formed for the sole purpose of getting Elvis to Omaha. He said if we got 10,000 signatures he would call the Colonel, we brought him 50,000, he called and scheduled one for 6/30, it sold out within 8 hrs, he called back and got a second one for that evening, again less than 8 hrs, sold out!, he called and got a 3rd one (this one) for the next evening, same thing, Gone in under 8 hrs, he called again, but this time no luck, Elvis was booked up. Mancuso had promised us we would have the opportunity to buy our tickets before they went up, but he reneged on that promise, I met my friend that played Ethel to my Lucy that weekend from that group and we were able to get a pair of tickets together for all 3 shows from newspaper ads, our best set in the 2nd row were also the cheapest, they'd won them on KOIL Radio and were selling them for the original price of $10. I Got my first job as soon as I knew he was coming, to pay for the tickets, a new outfit, meaning shoes, purse, and everything else a girl needs to meet the love of her life for the first time😊 6 months of working, shopping, dreaming and planning for 2 days that were over and time for the adventurous, fearless girl to change back to the shy, quiet one in the real world. I saw Elvis once more in 76', that time it was with my mother, whom I had finally converted and we took our friend Johnny Harra, one of the best Elvis impersonator's I've ever seen, but he had never seen Elvis live, so he flew in from CO to go with us. We ran into the woman who had started our Elvis group in 74' and after the show we all went to a bar with a small band. Everyone wanted to hear Johnny and the band invited him up, no arm twisting was needed, like most performers he was 70% ham 😅 and loved the attention. The next day people were calling the radio station saying Elvis had been seen singing in a bar after his concert 😂 there was a small piece in the newspaper telling who he was, he'd had several engagements playing in Omaha, that's how I'd originally met him, so he was known to anyone that followed or reported local entertainment. In 1981 Johnny got the Part of Elvis at age 42 in the movie 'This is Elvis' we'd lost touch by that time, but I was proud and happy for him, he really loved Elvis and he worked hard to give the audience the best illusion of Elvis possible. He was a lot of fun and I was sad to hear he had passed. That's the worse thing about getting old, you soon know far more people that are gone, than ones that are still here. I'm 65+ now and alone except for my pug and cat, but just like when I was a little girl from the age of 5, no matter how sad or depressed I've ever been, watching or listening to Elvis always makes me smile, and the memories of seeing him live and feeling that magic, even if I didn't get to talk to him, make that 15 year old girl still inside smile too ❤
Beautiful, thanks 😅for posting your lovely fun story.❤ Elvis would have been happy to meet you if he'd known of your efforts. 😢 Wish I had gone to see him.
Elvis had in fact a great year 1974😊, great Vegas shows in winter and summer, Memphis, Houston, a great summer tour. In Vegas 1974 summer he looked really great, tanned, motivated, and slim, his face looked like 1970 in August😊. The recovery from Oktober 1974 to march 1975 was really needed, he was completely overworked, so the shows in autumn1974 had been not his best after such an year..👻
Elvis dawal z siebie wszystko , zawsze, slyszelismy prawdziwy glos bez wzmacniaczy , bez tej nowoczesnej techniki, pomimo problemow zdrowotnych zawsze spiewal calym sercem, dusza, a do tego potrzeba wyjatkowej osoby !!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Elvis na zawsze !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Makes me mad they tore down the Civic center in Omaha Nebraska where I live and went to my first concert and Elvis Presley would have been the first concert except I got grounded for something I didn't do and just a few weeks later Elvis Presley was gone forever but not in my Heart and Thoughts.
