The way Kevin spacey portrayed Nixon is amazing

lol Shannon doesn't have to look like Elvis. This is a very tongue in cheek film and Shannon as a confessed Elvis fan, embodied 'wacky Elvis' perfectly.

I must say Kevin Spacey does Nixon's Voice to a teeth, thing is he didn't make a good Nixon Physical Character, but did a good job portraying him.

Michael Shannon portrayed General Zod in Man Of Steel. Kevin Spacey portrayed Lex Luther in Superman Returns. In Superman II, Both Luther and Zod appeared in the White House. IRONICALLY, in this movie, both Spacey and Shannon as Elvis and Nixon appear in the White House...

For me, I have always thought Elvis was an impossibly great looking human being. I couldn't help think how unnattractive this actor is, almost scruffy or even scraggy. There has to be some resemblence although it might be hard to find an actor to portray Elvis' charisma, I'm supposed to concentrate on the story but was off put by this actor.

While I really love Michael Shannon as an actor, and really enjoyed his performance in this film, I just never bought him as Elvis. I always saw Michael Shannon trying to be Elvis. The film is enjoyable tho, definitely worth a rental!

spacey being a democrat is so obnoxious in this movie, Elvis, who's clearly meant to be viewed as crazy, becomes the character I route for. Bob Gunton's version has elvis crazier but nixon is not as awful.

This Elvis is a "nightmare" !!! His voice, his look ... horrible !!!

I know a lot of people are complaining about Michael Shannon who plays Elvis in this film as being somewhat ugly and not looking like Elvis at all, but I think that was done on purpose. They wanted someone who looked older and more washed out to represent Elvis’ state of mind at this time. He was already beginning to feel the fatigue of his career coming down on him. And to the part of him not looking like Elvis, I think they did an alright job. It grows on you when you watch the film and certain shots he actually looks like Elvis from a distance. What I think is a stand out performance is Shannon’s interpretation of Elvis through his voice and mannerisms. He’s not super over the top like many actors who have played Elvis. He plays an Elvis that wants to be treated like a normal person and therefore sounds like a more toned down Elvis Presley. I liked it. Much like Austin Butler’s performance it shows the real human inside of Elvis and think this film did it perfectly for an older Elvis.
