Sadly we lost him so soon but he's immortalized on film and in photos forever, and I for one enjoy him so much. He's so thrilling and exciting and so amazing to hear and see him performing and even just his photos. Lately I've really been getting into his movies, too! My feelings are really just hard to explain, he just lights up my whole life! ❤️

I agree with you Amy, he was used by most of the people around him, all he wanted to do was to sing in front of an audience! He was such a humble man that is true! I went yesterday to a concert with Shawn Klush and 2 other Elvis impersonators, they were so great, but what I liked about them Amy is that they were so humble and we all met them after the concert, they talked to all of us, I was pleased at that!, You know sweetie, its the gift that we get that we use and that's what they are doing, if he hadn't listened to some people he still be here, it didn't help by Priscilla divorcing him either! He’s definitely matured from being in the military away from home (which is one of the benefits of joining up, character building) but he’s also got to be freaking exhausted. Coming back from overseas duty is pretty tiring even without all the extra fanfare that he had to get through before he could relax. The sheer amount of questions you have to answer from relatives is enough to make you sleep for several days, let alone reporters too.

Yes, Elvis' first few weeks - if not months - after his return from the army were very busy. Besides this interview, there were songs to record, a TV show to appear on, and a movie to make.

He left Germany and the army organised a press conference before he left. More press there than for Eisenhower. Plane stops over in Scotland for an hour and he meets fans and the British press.They land at McQuire Air Base in NJ in a raging blizzard and more fans and press then Fort Dix and an hour long press conference.Onto Memphis by car and train with Tennesse National Guard, State and City police and this is the next day at Graceland...so is tired but how beautiful is he.

He was blessed with a lot of things except good health. I know that he took many prescription drugs but I think that he felt they would help him feel better. He had insomnia very bad. His mother died quite young as well. Probably some sort hereditary condition along with the pressure that comes with fame. Drugs even prescribed ones can be deadly. Look at Heath Ledger. Michael Jackson. Prince. All on prescription meds. All died too young. RIP EP

Deborah Troyan I wonder if the bad insomnia and fear of sleeping alone came along after the military. I saw an interview with Priscilla where she states he’d take meds to make him sleep, and he would have affairs away from home because he had a fear of sleeping alone could’ve been something triggered from PTSD. I mean he would have anger flare ups, the fear of not waking up, the fear of not being able to fall asleep again, he’d have periods of depression and wanted solitude. People who knew him before he went overseas said he was more jovial and easy going.

Daniela, in 1973, Elvis wanted - and tried - to fire the Colonel. But when the Colonel handed Elvis a bill - outlining what it would cost to get rid of him - Elvis' father almost had a heart attack. Both Vernon and members of Elvis' entourage put all kinds of pressure on Elvis to stay with the Colonel. Elvis relented, and it was downhill from there. That frustration led to Elvis being clinically depressed. He was so unhappy that he said that he'd rather be unconscious than be miserable - which is why he took all the pills.
