In the last few years of his life, he had put on weight and struggled with drugs, divorce etc… but he never lost his singing ability, in fact it may have got better! Listening to him singing some of the songs can still bring tears to my eyes. He was, is and always will be the best ever and the standard that every other singer strives to be compared. He was truly “The King” and always will be!

I’m the same, at 50 I never really listened to Elvis and thought it a little cheesy, I see now, what a wonderful, inspirational, brilliant performer he was. My wife and I watched the Baz Elvis movie, and it totally changed the way we think of him now.

I liked the movie but I would love to see a documentary or movie that tells his whole story every step of the way.. Lots of things were left out or skipped over that being said I believe we saw all the pressure he was under and what ultimately killed him

He was a gentlemen but also a bit of a womanizer.. (being he could get any girl he wanted..) & in being old fashioned (in those days) it was preferred to choose a young lady so you could mold her into what you wanted her to be, of which Elvis was infatuated in doing so with Priscilla. He also held a commitment to Priscilla's father by promising to marry her when she was of legal age. Before marrying her he had a serious affair with Ann Margret of which he decided to break off because of said commitment. Ann looked very similar to Priscilla and its very possible they would have stayed together if Priscilla wasn't in the picture.. but it still wouldn't have lasted due to Ann's fame and EP's need to be a soul provider to his women. I truly believe he did love Priscilla but his fame, controlling manager and declining health (starting with the loss of his mother) prevented him from a normal life of marriage. The irony to it all being how close and dedicated he was to his mother and religion.. his story really saddens me after learning so much.. I feel his talents (all though beyond exceptional) could have been much much more if he wasn't so naïve to the control his manager had over his career decisions. I wish he was still here and I never thought Id ever fall down this rabbit hole of Elvis research.. ahh!! (ps. I'm a 91 baby & WISHHH i was born back then, the nostalgia, the simplicity but hardship and realness)

I was born in 94 as well and i am too an Elvis fan, my mom was 12 when he passed away and she tells me she used to listen to his music and she tells me her favorite song is burning love
