Elvis was the ultimate entertainer, but what made him special was his charisma and humbleness.

What made Elvis so special, was he was just natural, humble and sincerely a sweet soul. Remember once he replied when asked "what's it like being at the top Elvis?", Elvis said ,"the top is not a point, it's a platform with many on it". What a humble reply.

It really WAS overnight for Elvis!!! He put out one song & it went crazy...he was literally in a cinema when someone had to find him coz a radio station wanted to interview him! He'd been a truck driver & had decided to try to train as an electrician...at 19 he DID literally become famous overnight...he didnt promote himself...he wasnt chasing the dream....he'd done a song and that was it! He was actually extremely shy...even at this age in the interview....and didnt want to go on the radio for an interview...they had to pretend it wasnt live & he was just chatting "off air" to the guy doing the interview!!! Then he asked about when was it gonna start...he was told youve done it lol ....Once on stage tho his entertainer side took over in a way even he didnt understand. A natural genuine guy who just loved music & making the audience feel good...He certainly struggled with his fame but considering i think he handled it well...love this interview 😍

At the start of the press conference, Elvis gets a loud welcome applause from the media and one female reporter can be heard yelling "we love you Elvis" Which other entertainer commands that sort of reception and the way he handled some of the intrusive questions- nothing but top class thats why he's still the King

Elvis didn't have a switch....he just was who he was. On stage and off, he was the same person. He was an entertainer, yes, but some of things he did, on stage or off were to entertain himself. Elvis never took himself too seriously. He knew better than that. Even as an adult, he was a big kid. He loved playing practical jokes on people. If he fell victim to someone else's practical joke, he wasn't too happy. If that happened, he immediately started planning how to get them back, and he would make it "worse" than what they did to him. He was a big kid. What you see in all of these videos is what you got with Elvis. He wasn't one way on stage or on camera, and then different off stage or camera. This man was the real article.
@wb1

"I'm just an entertainer," says it all. Maybe todays Hollywood, Music, and Sports people could take a lesson from Elvis. He was a man ahead of his time and he knew his place in the world. How can ANYONE NOT love him. No, you don't need a guy like Col. Parker. He took 50% of everything that Elvis ever made.

It take Bing Crosby 8 years to become Bing Crosby it took Frank Sinatra almost 10 years to make it overnight success Michael Jackson grew up in the Jackson 5 put 20 years before he comes Michael Jackson no I heard of this kid named Elvis and 11 months later he made 22 million dollars that's overnight success. Thank you

There is not and will not be a singer like him in the history of entertainment. That the dimension of time does not affect even after 50 years its abilities to make the viewer feel as if it is real and it is truly eternal. It gives a sense of not taking your eyes off me when I'm on stage. It has something that no artist can convey even through the TV screen, it's crazy.

Brother "in the flesh" you're doing a great job; however, in one of your other reaction you said you could think of "20 other singers" who could sing better than the KING of music (Rock, Rhythm and Blues, Country, etc.)...Elvis didn't only change MUSIC; he changed a CULTURE (The way you and I talk, the way we dress), Elvis broke barriers Bro! Elvis could go high, he could go low, he could shake that VOICE (All without screaming), his voice is not squeaky (you know who I'm talking about) he has the RANGE like no other. Elvis never spent 5 to 6 hours a day to choreographing his moves (same thing every show) everything came natural to him so he just went with the flow while on stage (interaction with his audience is an indication); No performer (Past/present) could move like the KING, although many have tried...Other singers have multiple dancers in their group/band that dance exactly like them, nothing natural, all choreographed. Songs that Elvis sang 50 to 60 years ago still sounds like it was recorded TODAY; therefore, I can't think of any singers who have come close to matching Elvis' voice, let alone the COMPLETE PACKAGE...Billions would agree with me; 43 years after Elvis' death, they're still imitating him😲👍

@3SeveredHeads
@3SeveredHeads 3 года назад
Exactly what i say...NO DANCERS around him...NO SPECIAL FX to boost the "awe" of the performance....ALL LIVE, RAW ELVIS....often VERY UNREHEARSED lolol so the band had to watch Elvis carefully to see what cues he gave as to his moves!!! Can u even IMAGINE ANY performer since then up to this day who goes onstage not really knowing what they're gonna do!! NOT ONE....ALL REHEARESED endlessly...yawnsville 🙄 The ONLY performer that came close was STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN who made his guitar sing like a bird, scream for mercy and duet with him like no other...he never really rehearsed either an when asked their song running list he'd say "i dont have one i do what i feel onstage".... the organisers HATED it but like Elvis he was on another level...had he lived im sure he'd be a global legend too.... Todays entertainers are too worried how they look & sound....must be "perfect"... yet by doin that its SO NOT!!! 🥱😴

What a shame the MSG performances were not filmed, Elvis was incredible judging by the bootleg fan films. I love this interview, "Dear" "Honey" how wonderfully politically incorrect. His manager was ruthless and perhaps even criminal in the way he held Elvis back. If Elvis hadn't trusted him, he'd have made more money to give away (which is what Elvis did with much of his money) and he'd have enjoyed performing in person for his fans around the world, and feeling the universal love and appreciation he so deserved.
@Chris-kj7de

@Bryan Butler I agree with you, Bryan. Parker had some sort of hold over him that did Elvis no good. Elvis was a sweet, country boy who loved everyone. I think he was naive about people like Parker who was nothing more than a shameless con man and illegal immigrant.

I don't think it happened literally overnight for Elvis, but it did all start happening very fast once his records started getting airplay. He walked into Sun Studios in 1954 to record his first song and by 1956 he was already a major star , selling millions of records and making the movie Love MeTender. So, in a matter of just two years he went from being a completely unknown to an international super star. That's a pretty short amount of time ...Elvis exploded on the music scene like an Atomic Bomb, and to this very day, even 44 years after his death, we're still dealing worldwide with the fallout he caused. He.changed music, pop culture, and kicked down a lot of doors for those who were to follow.

Elvis was a very humble man, he never thought he was greater than anybody else ,never said anything bad about other ppl, all he wanted to do was sing and perform for his fans and the world , as an Elvis fan I detest the Col for what he did to him, ppl say he never wrote his own music, E wanted to, but the Col said Elvis is a singer I pay ppl to write the music,that's it ,! Also E wanted to travel the world but he couldn't cause the Col kept him from travelling which is sad in the end the Col had him contracted unbeknown to Elvis for 7 yrs in Vegas which is horrible I can't even watch the shows any more knowing what Elvis went through, Elvis is King always and forever ❤️

It really did happen overnight! Went into Sun Studios one night recorded That's Alright, and once it got played on a radio station (that would play his music) the calls for more were overwhelming. It went from 0 to 120 after that! Before going into Sun Records and recording That's Alright, Elvis had never performed professionally, except for at a talent show in school. So his success truly was overnight.😊

If colonel parker left the states he would've been arrested. That's why he never let elvis play outside the U.S.

I always wondered if Elvis would had lived through the 1980s and beyond if you would have collaborated with Hip Hop artists? I believe he would. What are your opinions on that subject based on what you learn of Elvis so far? I think this would be a great topic for to explore.
