"My Boy" was released in 1973....toward the end of Elvis's 'career'. So sad...but Elvis's life was filled with a multitude of ups and downs. Elvis's identical twin brother was Jesse Garon Presley who died at birth. Elvis was haunted by this his entire life. His mother Gladys used to say Elvis had the energy of 'two people'. (R.I.P. Jesse Garon Presley and Elvis Aaron Presley.)

My boy was written by Phil Coulter and bill Martin, Coulter is from Derry in my beautiful country ireland,he's a fantastic songwriter and composer, bill Martin was from Scotland I think, what a song,if u look up Phil Coulter he wrote song's for a lot of people,he also wrote scorne not his simplicity about his down syndrome son and gave it to Luke Kelly to sing.. what a songwriter he was...he also wrote The Town I loved so well about the trouble's in the north of Ireland,he was not biased in any way,l.. love you Phil Coulter 💚💚🇮🇪🇮🇪

I saw him in Feb. '77 as a child. You bet he could belt it out and put on a show. Unforgettable. Divorce has eternal consequences that don't just impact the couple ending their marriage.🥲 I love this man.

How does he do that? Who else could say the words "I know" and make you feel like your heart is breaking?? Ahhh it's just amazing! I remember hearing that for the first time in a pub, on a jukebox. The whole pub would sit there just listening with that look that you can't help having. The one you just had. Then when it finished life went on but with just a little bit of gently added empathy in it. I loved those Elvis moments in pubs. (Hurt was another one that left them quiet. The Wonder Of You had them singing their heads off. LOL)

Ty I LIVED this song every day for almost ten years, and I can't hear it without crying. I stayed in a horrible relationship for years because my beautiful boys were little and I couldn't bear the thought of them growing up without a father, and with an emotionally unstable mother. They will never know the anguish I went through. The Lord Jesus Christ got me through it, and now I have two young men who are both working full time and going to college. One is studying for the ministry and loves the Lord. God CAN.

I felt that so hard. And Elvis had a voice like fine silk, with a silvery sheen. I was a little girl when he died. I'll never forget that day. Mom and I both cried.

This is the first time I've ever heard this song. The father of my two youngest kids thought that because he and I work together he wouldn't be able to see his kids. I told him no way they're your children you will be in their lives. Up until they were teenagers the four of us spent every Sunday together all day breakfast lunch and dinner and holidays as a family even though I was with someone else. He and I still are best friends and our kids are 27-29

On January 8, 1935, Gladys Presley gave birth to twin sons: Jesse Garon and Elvis Aaron (Elvis Presley) in a two-room house that his father built for the occasion in Tupelo Mississippi. However, Jesse Garon died at birth. Biographer Peter Guralnick confirmed that Elvis’s identical twin brother was delivered 35 minutes before him and later buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave in Princeville Cemetery, Mississippi.

I always loved this song. A sad one but i loved it! About 5 years ago my sister in law betrayed my brother with another man for about one year. Of course my brother realized it someday and a 20 year old relationship was over. The two kids wanted to stay with his dad. And the ex of my brother wanted money, a lot of money. He would have paid everything so that the children wouldn't notice "what's going on behind close doors"! He was and is a great dad and the kids are almost grown up, but since then it's hard for me to hear the song! Btw she was my best friend 💔💔💔💔

Around time him and Priscilla divorced, he sung alot sings like this one. Some argue about this topic but 2 things in his life that change him 1 his Mama died in late 50s. Then 73 Priscilla left. My opinion. I meant 2 sad things. But best was birth of his daughter Lisa Marie.

He will Stay in the House with the boy so he can see the boy every day. I would not divorce my wife and I would not leave because I would not leave my kids. That's what he's singing about. Its not a question of moving away and forgetting his kids, its about not being there for him every day, and being willing to put up with cruelty. Some wives try to get their husband to leave by deliberately being verbally abusive hoping that it will drive the man out of the home, but if you have boys and they are little, it may be good to stay close to them. They need their father with them.

Elvis daughter Lisa said she never knew her parents were divorced. That's props to Elvis and Pricilla! Elivis and Pricilla stayed close up until his death. They never stopped loving each other but he knew the lifestyle he was living she would never accept again. He always wanted her back but he could never be faithful and he always had the guys around and a couple of them were undermining the relationship.Emotionally I think Elvis never grew up. The thing he wanted most was family and a home life but everything he did was sabotage it.
