Seeing him in this movie especially the white suit/ cigars he really should have been in some gangster movies! Or like old time 1920s-40s detective movies or something. So much potential.
He was the most charismatic absolutely stunningly lusciously beautifully gorgeous man I have ever seen in my life. He’s so delicious looking. I don’t care who was born after him, but they don’t quite make it to his measure.
After his army stint the damn colonel locked Elvis into these sorts of formulaic plots with singing on occasion. But, they were the only way back then for the masses to access the not-yet-touring Elvis---to hear his songs and see him on the big screen in all his glory. The film I watch repeatedly is Viva Las Vegas because of the long history and fabulous chemistry with Ann-Margret.
