Elvis was his own producer despite actually having one in name only.Elvis sang by ear. He could take any song and make it so different from the original. He truly was a music genius.Rhythm came out of his every pore.Yes, his passion was music. He loved it.
He was always playing around with lyrics and messing about with songs, he had such an infectious laugh as well. He always gave his all even when rehearsing and had an ear when someone made a mistake 🧡
Elvis was BORN to ROCK.I could watch 10 hours straight of Elvis behind the scenes. He was as much a band leader and producer as he was a singer on a stage. Elvis may have not WRITTEN songs but the man DOMINATED the production on every other corner. Most song writers cant perform. Elvis was SO good they fed him music and he turned them into hits.
"So what it boils down to was Elvis produced his own records. He came to the session, picked the songs, and if something in the arrangement was changed, he was the one to change it. Everything was worked out spontaneously. Nothing was really rehearsed. Many of the important decisions normally made previous to a recording session were made during the session. What it was was a look to the future. Today everybody makes records this way. Back then Elvis was the only one. He was the forerunner of everything that's record production these days. Consciously or unconsciously, everyone imitated him. People started doing what Elvis did." Bones Howe Recording Engineer
Yep. Exactly. Great comment! Most people out there - including some Elvis fans - really don't realize to the extent just how true that was. In the creative music business - Producing and Arranging ... by their very core definitions ... are precisely what Elvis Presley did in his sessions over the years. Yet most people don't give him the proper due respect or credit throughout the years to point out he was a producer and arranger. Most people only talk about his voice or singing.... but it really is a dereliction & discredit to his creative talents to not acknowledge his talents beyond the vocals. One of the reasons he never got credit for it is that back in that era most singers (just by default) did not get "producer or arranger" credits. Record companies generally listed the name of producer or arranger on albums by someone that was already hired by record label for that specific job. (And in many cases they did in fact run the sessions.) I've listened to a number of interviews over the years regarding many other artists from that era that have spoke about this. I think that's the most interesting thing about it though is that innElvis case, unlike many of those other singers, he took a much more leadership Hands-On active role in the creative process. There's a great quote out there from legendary producer Bone's Howe that talks about how Elvis was cutting edge, ahead of his time in this category. It's interesting because there are many modern artists today that have the word "Producer or Arranger" attached to their name, yet they are not doing anything more or different than what Elvis himself was doing back then. More people out there really need to do a better job of pointing this out. It's not enough when people just say "he was a great singer". He also deserves the title of Producer/ Arranger attached to his name. And of course not to mention many professional musicians that worked with Elvis in the studio over the years have even pretty much documented this stuff. It's odd that it has seemingly went so overlooked Anyway appreciated seeing your comment ...nice to see someone out there point this out
Elvis a perfectionist sometime they would rehearse half the night. Untill he had it the way he wanted. Very serious about how he wanted everything to be
Please react to Oh happy day . Las Vegas rehearsal. It's very short. The man was practically a preacher in the clip. Also Bridge over troubled water performance 1970 Vegas. Its the culmination of these rehearsals and one of his most powerful performances. Vicki
Elvis was producing his own recordings even when he made his first album for RCA back in 56. Thanks for the look behind the screen where we see how the donuts are really made. To see the finished product react to Elvis's Bridge Over Troubled Waters 70.
Hi, Love your Elvis reactions. Elvis has a few other rehearsal videos that I'm sure you will enjoy. He is very comical in some of them. He was such an amazing person, entertainer, and one of the best voices there will ever be. Thanks!
These rehearsals were fantastic .. his personality really shines... he had a great sense of humour ....1970 version of this is amazing ... simon n garfunkel were so impressed they quoted how do we compare with this! Check it out 👍🏿👌🏾
Really good review thanks very much. I like your headbands. 👍 they say that he could tell if there was a note like even a violin note or something out of key he could spot it.
good find on this video TheBlackNinjaBodyBuilder.....from an old gym rat thats been hanging and banging for 43 years and just barely holding on to 300lbs bw........not the best 300+ , however its the best i have lol.....very good video reaction from a consistant lifter.....if i'm wrong about your lifting i'll give you fifty palms away chins with 5 ft between hands......or 2 reps.......whichever comes first lolololol......bless you and your wonderful family.
Elvis was a big joker & prankster (even on the stage) & you have to watch closely & listen carefully or you'll miss it all; he even threw some water to Glen Hardin (pianist) while performing on stage & also over to Charlie Hodge; he also "gave the finger" to some of his people, all while performing; during a rehearsal in in the Main Room (he had on a red shirt) the guys sitting down threw ice cubes up to him; he has to be watched carefully
How was that rare? In choirs shorter people have always been up front, otherwise their voices are blocked by the bodies in front and men ,in general, are taller than women.
@@williamquinlan2193 True but that wasn't the case with Elvis. It was a racial stance, not about height. Most backup singers who were black were stuck in the back out of sight because of racist laws and society's screwed up views back then. Jessie Jackson even applauded Elvis for having them on his show and putting them up front.
Elvis and Col. Parker had a 50/50 deal. Parker was the agent and Elvis had 100% freedom of his music. No one ever told Elvis what to record or how to record it. Elvis knew that by giving Col. Parker 50% that he would have 100% Freedom. Smart choice i'd say. BTW Elvis is now Pastor Bob Joyce in Benton Arkansas. Seriously.
Colonel Parker had 50% of Merchandising only..25% of movies and Music from 1955 to 1976. In 1976 it was changed to 50% of everything. As you said Elvis had full creative control of music, concerts... And certainly hope you are joking about Bob Joyce...The man can Not sing and looks nothing like Elvis ..He is a typical "Pastor" "Evangelist" etc....taking advantage of a situation to line his pockets...He is a fraud
