Elvis Presley was a legend and he was a wonderful person who loved all people he had a beautiful soul and charisma like no other I love him and miss him
Elvis Presley was the director he never followed the drums. The drums followed him, the drummer carefully watched every move he made. That was the deal. And Elvis was an entertainer. Elvis always felt that if you wanted to hear him sing and just stand there, you can listen to his records. So when he was on stage, he not only song but he performed. That's what made him the king.
Nice guy, Thanks very much man. You will really love Elvis, even aside from his music. the kind of man he was for charity. Second to none. He was great towards the black community. You can find that on RU-vid. he made 31 films and concerts and documentaries. Early shows from the 50s and 70s.
Elvis was a consummate entertainer. He was often spontaneous and added things to his performances, so his band and backing singers had to watch him like hawks to keep up with him. So happy you have now discovered the reality behind the Legend that is Elvis. More please. 🙏👌💕🕺
This was always my favorite elvis song and i love how he really shows off his moves and you cam see how he loves to joke around with his band members and how he is in full control he sounds so awesome id would have given anything to be in that audience watching him perform this i bet it was absolutely amazing Another great reaction
There was a comment made by one of the memphis mafia that he especially loved two of them on the Elvis aeroplane. Myrna Smith denied it in her interview and I can't remember which other of sweet inspirations was referenced. Myrna went on to marry Jerry Schilling (who asked her out the same time as Elvis did) after Elvis' funeral. Her interview is also very sweet, as is Estelle Brown's. Elvis just loved women and they loved him back. I mean, who could blame them ❤
I LOVE seeing people discover the Elvis many of us have loved for decades. You should check out his early catalog and the 68 comeback special. Thank you for taking time to learn what we all know... there will never be another ELVIS ❤
OMG.. if you are not captivated from the first note.. or those cheekbones.. Lord knows he died when I was a baby.. but My Mama raised me on him.. a sexy AF man that could sing anything.. If you don't love his talent.. have no use for you. True talent in my lifetime... Amazing talent.. Elvis and Michael.
He's not trying to match the drummer, he's having a constant conversation with the drummer (Ronnie Tutt) he was in complete control of everything that happened on that stage. Welcome to the fan club. Glad you liked it. ❤
Elvis is not following the drums. The drummer is following him. His drummers Ronnie Tutt said he had to keep his eyes on Elvis every minute because he did not know where he might go next. Elvis’s raised hand in the middle of the he song or his looking back at the band are all his ways of directing the the band. I saw him twice in concert during this time period. It was memorizing both times.
No. He’s directing the drums. He is always, always in control of everything on that stage. Check out American Trilogy in Aloha from Hawaii which was simultaneously aired all over the world. Just another first. Also, What Now my Live, My Way. Then of course there’s the 68 special, they called it the comeback special because he’d been making all those movies for so long and he was finally coming back to the people. There’s so many. In the Ghetto, If I Can Dream, his gospel, his country and the list goes on and on and on
Wow, what a great reaction. Elvis loved everybody and grew up poor in a Ghetto in Mississippi, in 1935, he went to a black church and just listened to the wonderful gospel. He actually wanted to be a gospel singer especially in a quartet. He was a true believer and used gospel to sing after his two shows a night in Vegas. He hired his childhood idol gospel singer DJ Sumner and his group the Stamps when he went to Vegas. He also hired the Black group of singings called the sweet Inspirations who had sung with Aretha and other great gospel singers. He was one of the first white artist to hire black backup in one of the most racial charged era's of history. He was a financial supporter of Dr. Martin Luther King" and dedicated his song, "If I Can Dream" to Dr. King, which was the ending to the show in his comeback tv special in 1968. when I was a teenager in the 50's white stations would not play black artists till Elvis changed that. He promoted the careers of both James Brown and Jackie Wilson, in fact when he died James sat by his casket at the funeral. I appreciate your comments about Elvis, he was the real deal. Thanks and Be Blessed🥰
"I get it now" Yep, all of us could watch him sing the same 6 words and dance for 17 hours, and we would love it and want more. Welcome to the magic of the King....
His first television appearance would not allow him to be filmed from the waist down. The Ed Sullivan Show was the name of the show. My older brother was a huge Elvis fan when I was a child.
Elvis was such a masculine man, he drove all the ladies crazy. I can't take my eyes off of him, there is a reason he is such a legend. He had everything voice, talent looks. thank you so much for your great reaction.

He's GREAT right!😍 He was raw and a natural born star..that voice ..such a blessing for all us.Check out We can make it to the morning... I don't think there is a live for the song..but still worth the listen.. You can thank me later lol..I enjoyed your reaction.😀
This song was written especially for him and on the record the song is sung a bit slower. It was # 1 for a long time. But you’re right, he had to be a showman on stage and one needs to make the audience stay interested. Thank you for this. I had a big smile on my face at Elvis and at your reaction. You seem very authentic Sir. God bless. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹🌹🎸🕺🏻🎸🕺🏻🎤🎤
Duelling with Ronnie on the drums ❤ "He was a bundle of energy set to music and that echo will never die" quote from Rev Brewster, and so true. Bridge Over Troubled Water 1970 please 😊
Oh my days indeed! Keep them coming. Maybe you find the time to react to American Trilogy, Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite '73, one of my favorites (among hundreds of favorites from the King ❤👑🥰)
Elvis the ultimate performer just awesome he was in sync with the drummer he was in total control with his band yes wow indeed great reaction thank you carry on doing Elvis he'll always amaze you Just pretend Polk salad Annie In the ghetto and Walk a mile in my shoes he recorded over 700 😊😊
Actually the Drummer Ronnie Tutt had to watch Elvis' moves and drum to his moves! Ronnie Tutt once said," Following Elvis was like following a marble on a warped floor!"
I've watched about thirty different reaction videos on this. NOBODY gets the part in the beginning where he sings, "So if an old friend I know (and then he tilts his head down for a half a second and shields his mouth for the camera and quietly sings "Shove It Up Your Nose") drops by to say hello/ Would I still see suspicion in your eyes". So if an old friend I know, shove it up your nose, stops by to say hello.
i love you and i love watching your elvis journey! pls do "just pretend" live vegas 1970 same yr and stage as the one you just watched ronnie tutt elvis' drummer was his on stage heartbeat and compass they truly had a symbiotic relationship on stage thank you ✿♡
*_TRIVIA :_* At the end of the song when Elvis reappears from the dark, he has a different suit on. Not to many people catch it. What happened was Elvis did two shows a day in Vegas. Somehow when they edited the two shows from that same day, they got the ending mixed up but never changed it.
You know? I never noticed the jumpsuit change at the end. I guess I always focused on Elvis's moves and facial expressions😀. Thank you for pointing that out.
Elvis worked constantly with his talented band and singers so that they performed seamlessly and perfectly as one tight but flexible unit. The drummer was matching Elvis, not the other way around. The band had to always be alert to what Elvis was doing on stage because he never performed the same way twice. Elvis was an 8th degree karate black belt and was in peak shape in 1970. Unfortunately, drugs for energy and other ones for sleep, along with lifestyle and excessive pressure to perform, helped ruin his health within a few years. Elvis thought the drugs were okay because they were prescribed by a doctor (but unethically).
