Loved your reaction very much Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my entire life. we met when i was very young but our friendship lasted past that one day in time. 10 yrs to be exact up until his death i asked nothing of him he asked nothing from me except friendship without Elvis i don't know where i would be today. All the memories of my friend are tucked safe in my heart forever. dancing and singing breaks my heart because i know he is not here anymore my mind understands but my heart never will, i saw him a few weeks before he passed we had a short conversation which i will never share again because people are so nasty and comment hurtful heart breaking things they do not know me but they still can't keep their mouths closed about things they know nothing about. I walk past Graceland everyday love from Memphis Tn.
I live 50 miles from where Elvis was born in Tupelo. He lived poverty..... And he never forgot where he came from ...... Such a horrible ending for a man that accomplished so much and gave so much to others. One of the most generous men to ever walk this earth.
"Before you abuse, criticize, and accuse, walk a mile in my shoes." That pretty much sums it up. So glad you are putting this idea out there, Jamel. Thank you..
I feel your heart and agree with your message. If we can just be humble and kind the world would be a better place. Elvis with all his success was a giving and kind human!
That's a very sad statement if your human you cant NOT know what everyone is going through. The problem isn't not knowing its not giving a damn. If you truly care about anyone else ask them what the problem is and then stick around to hear the answer most give lip service and pretend to care because it makes them look good in the eyes of the world but in reality they dont really care and they dont really want to hear it.... so the world goes to shit and people really have the nerve to ask why well that's just bull shit and everyone knows its bull shit too but nobody says anything because everyone's doing the same thing and no one wants to be shown as a shallow a hole so they never expose anyone else who's doing it either. This is why we are where we are and exactly why we will never be anything more or better then we are right now and that's a vary sad thing for the whole of humanity were a sorry lot we are aren't we. It makes us all want to throw the covers over our heads and pray we die in our sleep... or is that just me?
I grew up 60 miles from Memphis. Elvis grew up dirt poor and made it. He and 90% of us didn't see color, we worked together and always helped when someone was in need.
@@jatteam8615 I went for the first time in 2004. And I cried so much at his grave. I've Loved Elvis since I was 7 I am now 51. I was seven when he passed away.
I read somewhere that Elvis hated being called King (of RnR) because there is only ONE King. He was a spiritual man. And he saw humans for who they are color was never a issue.
Elvis was my idol when I was growing up & he was a true role model. I know that “towards the end” he kind of fell off the rails somewhat but lord almighty... When he stood onstage & had the spotlight focused squarely on him, he COMMANDED attention & more often than not, got it. Sure, he had his share of “haters” (don’t we all?), but for those who will always love & idolise him & his music, he will forever be the 1 & only KING ✊️👑... LONG LIVE THE KING!!! 👑👑👑
It may not make sense but while watching your elvis reactions I could feel my grandmother's smile, he was her favorite Edit: thanks bro it's been 15 years since I closed her eyes in the hospital
"Elvis had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. He was both generous and compassionate, and his love for people was tremendous." - Marian Cocke, Elvis' private nurse.
PREACH brother Elvis, and PREACH brother Jamel! Have you ever seen the candlelight vigil that happens outside the gates of Graceland each year? Even after 44 years, fans are still mourning and congregating to mark his passing.
I got to see Elvis in 1976, he was even better in person, if you can imagine that! He was sick looking and overweight but when he opened his mouth to sing there was no mistaking what a genius he was, my Mom used to watch him play basketball at the YWCA in Memphis back in about 1955, she didn’t care for him because she was just a young girl (17) who grew up on a farm in Arkansas during the Great Depression. He had a reputation for being “different” because he sang and danced like a black man and drove all the white girls crazy and that scared the conservative parents of the 50s, she’s 83 now and I’m enjoying her stories from her youth more and more. You’re a good decent and kind man Jamal, we could use a few more like you.
@@SouthernArtist77 You might want to get her on video or tape. My biggest regret is not writing the stuff Mom told me about our family and what she did as a young girl. I still remember some. But should have written it down. And I should have gotten her to write down the people in the pictures she had. lol
Elvis was the most amazing human on this planet. He was humble, kind, generous, giving and treated everyone with love and respect. Definitely the most beautiful man, inside and out, to ever walk this earth.
I was lucky to see Elvis in August of 1971 at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. In August of 1977 my wife was in Hawaii when Elvis passed away. The Hawaiians loved Elvis. My wife says it was a sad time in Hawaii. you would have thought everybody in Hawaii lost a family member.
Just remember, if someone actually walks a mile in your shoes--and still doesn't get it, at least they are a mile away from you and you are that much further away from them.
Elvis was a one of a kind person. Jamal. I always wonder, if elvis brother would have lived would he be a singer & look just like elvis. We were blessed to have just one i guess.💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Elvis knew he had a real talent but to me his real talent was he was a very kind and loving human being. His gift was he never judged anyone and it shows in his performances.Take care jamel, regards from Manchester England.
Jamel !!! ELVIS would have LOVE UR ENERGY around him. I grew up with ELVIS. There is not now or will every be another , Human being like him. In any aspects. God truly gave us A PRECIOUS!! PRECIOUS MAN!!!
Hi from England The lyrics to this song says it all about us As human beings were are never perfect- we are flawed people but it’s how you parents taught you to know the difference between good and bad and to never criticise another human As in the song lyrics which sum it all up and Elvis knew how to put the lyrics across like no other entertainer before during or since God Bless Elvis ❤️❤️❤️❤️💓💓💓💓💓🥲🥲🥲😭😭😭😃😃😃
I was just twelve when I heard of his death. I learned what it meant to be a world class entertainer. That voice! Those moves! And some of his songs told about real situations like this one. Amen Elvis! Never judge before you know the trials of your brother! Peace The King!👑
@@taorion Me too! I was spending time with my great aunt and as she made dinner, I was in my room with the radio on. I ran to her to tell her the sad news. We put on his records and reflected on how he made the music world his kingdom. 😢
Im Glad i was born in 1960 So I remember ELVIS Very well in the 1970s It Was ELVIS LEDD ZEPPELIN ABBA AND THE CARPENTERS , The 70s were so much fun,, And the Partridge family lol
I love this man so much!!!!! Aug is always hard for me. We lost a man Aug 16 1977. My sister next to me in age but 17 yrs older than me died in 2002. Her bday would have been today. My mommas bday would have been Aug 12th. I hate when this month and Sept rolls around. It is so depressing for me. Sept 2002 I lost my sister, My father in law died Aug 22 2008. I lost a nephew from a heartattck who was only 41 Sept 2010, Sept 2011 I lost another sister then two weeks later her husband who grieved himself to death, Sept 2012 I lost my mom, Sept 2013 I lost a grandson and my son in law. Sept 2016 I lost my brother. We all were big Elvis fans. Our family get togethers were always great and Elvis would be playing. My momma was such a big fan.
I know where he is coming from, I was one of 7 kids, we were poor, very poor, only a mother to look after us, gone hungry many times didn't have things other kids had. I appreciate everything in life, especially the small things. Life is not for judging it's for living.
really appreciate this song and your playing it. On lighter side. Now, I'm 75 yrs old, but when I was a teenager, we would write letters, on the envelopes,we would print. Postman, Postman...don't. Be slow. Be like Elvis and go. Go. Go
Hello Jamel, happy with your return, I know you are a good man, Elvis was one, he always remained humble, to give love around him, nothing was more important to him than family life , did not take it for a star, just a man, he loved his audience and especially God, while God bless you my brother, and thank you.
STAND IN SOMEONE ELSES SHOES AND SEE THRU THERE EYES AND ECT. THAT'S HOW I WAS RAISED❤ WHATS HAPPENING TODAY I'M GOING NEAR SEVENTY BUT NOW THERE ARE TOOO MANY BROKEN HEARTS AND EGOS.. The preamble that Elvis quoted a part from was composed by Hank Williams Sr. Hank recorded it in 1950 and it was released the following year. The recording was a recitation. It was entitled "Men With Broken Hearts" and done under the pseudonym of "Luke The Drifter." You should check it out sometime. Johnny Cash did it very nicely.
August 16, 1977...I was 11 years old on vacation with my family when we heard the awful news on the radio. Dad packed all 6 of us in the station wagon and we drove 4 hours home. We were in disbelief and vacation was cut short. 44 years ago and I still remember it like it was today.
Such a Great Song that Everybody needs to hear and to take notice of the message and live by its words !! I shall be singing this the rest of the day now ! Love Elvis ❤ Will be checking out the playlist too ! ⚡🔥
Never saw this performance before. Thank you. The King of Rock and Roll! So, 1969, Mama Cass "Make Your Own Kind of Music". 1970 The King "Walk A Mile In My Shoes". Had it going on.
See and marvel at how much he was loved and enchanted this last week and the unimaginable amount of empathy there is towards him it only enlightened the world, we will never forget you Elvis and love you forever. He may be gone , but in spirit he is immortal
Love your show. So glad youre showing Elvis the way he was, Beautiful person and talented but even more, generous and humble. Plus, thanks for spreading the Love.
Hi jamel great reaction mate this is from elvis that's the way it is film it's my favourite elvis film, hope you and your family are keeping well, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless keep safe
It seems when I get on most social media, it’s a big dose of everything that divides us. However, the posts and music on your channel are posts that unite and bring us together. Much needed and appreciated.
"Be kind because everyone you meet is going through the some kind of struggle. People complain about things that won't matter 5 years from now, never the difficulty people actually face in life. Jamel since you are a HUGE Elvis fan, you should visit Memphis and The Guest House At Graceland just a short walk from Graceland. It's finally open!😁~APRIL LIPKE
Elvis was a born again Christian. After he was saved, he wanted to share with with others. Now, he and family were dirt poor, but this nine year old Christian gave away all his precious comic books. Then he gave away his bicycle but his parents retrieved it, explaining to the kid's parents the situation. Not much later he gave away his bicycle once again.Vernon and Glady gave up getting it back.Elvis' sharing his wealth started young. If he saw your need, he tried to fill it. He loved making people happy. He never once took a tax deduction for his charity and giving. He wanted the gift to come straight from him. He truly loved everyone and would by pass a famous person first, preferring to befriend ordinary people. There never will be another Elvis. His humanity is one tremendous reason why he is so loved 44 years since his passing.
