I honestly don't see a difference from the China days, this episode in particular was quite technical with Elvis' explanation on exhaust physics. I think people remember the China era as something it wasn't.

Those Clamshells are to be preferred by anyone with an eye for the aesthetic. Otherwise the entire things is too slab-sided. As for "Modern" Elvis, the cycle wings came first back in Sept. '57.
