These are the people I love to hear from. Ordinary people who weren't on the payroll with their genuine stories and what they thought of Elvis. It's almost always that Elvis was just a normal nice guy. I bet he was fun. Awesome find Ashley. Thanks

I really have enjoyed this video Ashley! He is so real and down to earth....just like Elvis was and the guys. I fell out laughing when he told the story about the $100 bill he found in the car. He was absolutely right about why Elvis gave him a ten dollar tip instead of the $100 back. 😂🤣😂 It’s a known fact that Vernon was always complaining about Elvis’s generosity. 😁 These are the people that slip through the cracks that we really want to hear from. Oh Ashley, what a fun video! How fun that you got to talk to Billy Strawn! He seems quite the character, I think I could have listened to him all day long telling Elvis stories. I didn't realize that Gladys's family worked at Graceland too, dumb of me not to realize that as Elvis was all about family. You just never head much about Gladys's family, or at least I haven't. Loved hearing how Elvis wanted the dimmer switch moved up to the steering column as well as that is where they are located now. I hated them on the floor board as they were usually up pretty high and me being only 4' 11", I had to stretch to reach the dang thing. lol Elvis was always ahead in time I thought. Cool to see where Mr. Stawn's shops where too. I know progress moves on, but it would be so cool to have things like they were. Thanks Ashley, this was amazing!

I love hearing these kinds of stories . I didn't know Elvis and Priscilla had a second wedding . I remember when people could go get their checks cashed at convenient stores or liquor stores . There's not many places that will do that anymore . Times were different back then that's for sure . Glad I just stumbled on this video. I had missed. It always amazes me there are people that Elvis dealt with regularly that continue to be new to me. It also warms my heart to hear someone who saw him just as a really nice normal regular person (And treated him as such), Versus worshiping him, which then alters most stories. And I can actually relate to Elvis. It wasn't with a $100 bill, but my mechanic proved that not only did he do excellent work, but how honest he was. To this day I will not let any other person touch my car!

Just stumbled across this. What a nice man with great stories. What struck me at the end was when he said "Elvis and him were the same age" I thought wow Elvis would have been "old" like this sweet gentleman. I never think of Elvis as old ... Great interview with a charming fella.

Great interview, Ashley! I thought it interesting that Priscilla had to drive her own car and wait for it to be serviced. I guess Elvis wasn't going to allow the same type of service for her...wasn't treated like a queen. Lol. What a great idea to rehab a horse trailer for transporting clothes. No folding and no wrinkles.

I LOVED this video!! Great job. I've heard SO many Elvis stories that you can almost get a feel for who might be coloring the truth and who is just straight up telling the story like it was. I was SO fully expecting for Elvis to tell him to keep the $100, but I can understand with his daddy in the car, he was trying to do what would be OK with his dad.
