He was a great father and husband, even though he wasn't always around. Yes, I know that Elvis wasn't perfect. We've all had our shortcomings. People say Priscilla was one lucky woman to have been with Elvis, but I say he was lucky as hell to have her. I'm sure had Elvis stayed faithful and put her first she would have been with him till he died. After the split it was all downhill for Elvis. I'm sure he always regretted not putting her first.
What a beautiful gift Lisa Marie gave to Austin to show her appreciation for respecting her dad by showing him his room. He’s got that beautiful memory to cherish that is a HUGE show of trust. Nobody sees that room.

It’s not an easy job to be married to an icon like Elvis. You have to share your most intimate relationship with the rest of the world. Love the mutual love and respect that they shared. Also noted that he introduced her as his “wife” even after his divorce. That speaks volumes.
You don’t hear Elvis speak all that often - his Mississippi/Tennessee accent is just as appealing as his crooning singing voice 😊 And he may have cheated a couple times…..but he was still a very dignified and cordial person and eloquent speaker 👌🏻
I feel this. So much. I know what it’s like to be set far apart from everyone else but I cannot imagine it to the degree and sheer massive scale that was Elvis Presley’s life. May he always rest in peace and may his beloved daughter be with him and his parents, all together, forevermore. Bless them for bearing through those trying years. Fame is a beast. Especially when it’s being controlled by an entity other than yourself.
Elvis was a truly decent man! He shared this information with his fans, not because he had to, but, because he felt protective of his family! He never forgot those he loved! His wife & daughter were as precious to him as his parents were! He never stopped loving & protecting them! He was a definite example of how purely the Lord wants us to love each other! His honesty was always refreshing! The world could learn a lot from Elvis -- not just from the way he entertained & loved his fans but also ,from the way he chose to live his life---with integrity all the way!!
It had to have been so tough for him, living like he did in the public eye, to deal with a situation like him and Priscilla divorcing. Its something you can't keep quiet, the rumors and gossip abound. He was hurting here...a sensitive soul was this man. I am sure they both had their reasons to split but this was hard on everyone and although he was making light of it, my heart breaks for him, listening to him, trying to 'set the record straight,' in this clip. I hope at some point he understood how much we all loved him.

However, I see your point and agree that eventually the glitz and glamour would get old- having to stroke someone's ego constantly would be nothing short of exhausting. All the Cilla haters should listen to this. Elvis loved her and Lisa with all his heart and soul and they reciprocated too. No matter what happened in their marriage (and blame whoever the hell you want) their love endured.
He clearly stated they stayed close because they had a daughter. He was scorned by Cilla so she was not innocent. And that was way before the marriage and continued to happen for many years.

The speech we just listened to is one coming from a man who sounds as if he is trying to console himself and convince the public they still loved each other, First of all there was another man involved his name was Mike Stone, during their very short marriage she was sleeping with her dance instructor and then after him she moves in to shack up with Mike Stone her karate instructor who Cilla had been chasing while she was still married to Elvis and living at Graceland at that time. Just thirteen months after their wedding, she stared cheating on Elvis with endless men. By February of 1971 Priscilla had left Elvis, though they did not get divorced until 1973. They were only together as a married couple for only 4 years before she took off. Elvis was NOT pining for Priscilla, his ego was hurt when she left that's all. According to Elvis's long time cook at Graceland Elvis didn't want to marry Priscilla. Elvis's friends and his cook said Elvis was really upset so badly at the prospect of having to marry Priscilla he started crying. He was pressured into marriage by Cilla's father and his manager Tom Parker because they had been living together for three and half years. "The Memphis Mafia" said exactly the same thing. This is not hating on Priscilla, these are just the facts of the situation. Elvis cared for priscilla and gave her whatever she wanted but it was not love, it never was. No man or woman can claim to love someone so much and at the same time engage in endless affairs with other people. That speech Elvis just gave was soothing his ego not his heart.

Over the years Priscilla was the one who stepped in & saved the Presley Family from losing Graceland, because Elvis did not die a rich man & Vernon was grieving so much he couldn't have done it, so thank Priscillia & her master-minding saving Graceland for Lisa Marie!!
Not to argue with you but after they took the colonial to court after his death they won. They loved each other. Priscilla cheated but she needed to grow.
Priscilla was an executive with Lisa Marie being the main heir and she was advised to sell. But clearly it was the renewal of interest after Elvis died that brought it all the money. The house would have became a Mecca to fans no matter the owner and she capitalised on it.

Used to wait tables where Priscilla came by on a regular basis (years ago) and can attest that she is a BEAUTIFUL human being...he was absolutely blessed to have her 😇. She was too young, he controlled her too much. So many things could have been different. But they did make another awesome human being that brought us the FABULOUS Riley Keough!! She is a really gifted actor 🤩 . Sad about Ben though 😭 .
Wow! I Haven't really listened to any interviews of Elvis before (have always loved his music though) and I'm amazed at how sensible, charming, funny, caring, loving and respectful he sounds.
From what I've seen in various vid clips and such I think that esp the way Elvis treated, cared for, and viewed his daughter lisa Marie is quite possibly one of the most fantastic and admirable things about him. I'm saying this in full view of his abilities and persona as a well known performer. 🙂

Elvis had such charisma that stands out for me as a child I most probably didn't have the words for it. He just jumped out of the screen at you. I totally loved him. I believe we are in for a surprise and that him and Priscilla are still ❤. Wouldn't that be something wow!!!

I love Elvis, He was a generous man so it seems. He really loved his wife and daughter. He made mistakes being with other women, but his heart belonged to one woman,Presilla. I don't think he ever got over her. His songs with the video of them together, Always on My Mind. Kentucky Rain. It was about searching for Presilla & Lisa. Those two beauties were his Heart & Soul. The tragedy that has affected this beautiful family is beyond comprehension. To know that Lisa and her son is also gone is heartbreaking. Priscilla is such a strong person to carry on.
