What is a true friend?....someone who tells you what you want to hear or someone who tells you what you don't want to hear?.... Red and Sonny had the concern and courage enough to risk their friendship with Elvis in order to try and save his life.....they proved beyond any doubt that they were more than just "yes" men..... RIP Red Sonny and Elvis!
I totally agree Rock and thanks so much forwatching! Elvis had alot of yes people around him at that time but Sonny,Red and Billy Smith also were the only ones that really were concerned enough about Elvis to try and do something about what was going on with him.
Sonny and Red finished breaking Elvis heart when they wrote that book. It was pure retaliation for Letting them go. If they wanted to help him that certainly wasn't the way.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video with Sonny!!! What stood out to me the most regarding the story about Elvis buying the top of the line wheelchair for the lady in need besides Elvis' compassion and generosity was that Elvis truly did not care if she knew who he was because he wholeheartedly gave with his heart!!! Also, the story with Elvis being on his own calling for a taxi always makes me laugh no matter how many times I hear it!!! Thank you so much Rich!!! 🎶TCB 💖TLC 🎶
From what I have read, Elvis was blindsided, he did not know that they were writing this book. He was very hurt and was very depressed about it. I can't believe that they thought that this would help. They knew that no one could tell Elvis what to do. I can't believe that they thought a book would help. Basically, they made money off of Elvis.
Hi and thank you for watching!I agree that the book was a terrible thing but Elvis did know about the book before it was released. He actually tried to put a stop to it by offering a payout to Sonny Red & Dave if they didn't release it but they turned it down.I am nit sure if you were aware of that or not so I figured I would let you know. It's fair to say you have your opinion about this and that's a good thing because we are all entitled to our own but the fact of the matter is that Sonny and Red were let go because they tried to get in the way of Elvis receiving illegal drugs that were not prescribed by his doctor. They were watching him slowly self destruct every day and they were trying yo save him in their own way even if it meant losing there job.Billy Smith,Elvis's cousin also tried getting rid of some of Elvis's pills and he did but Elvis never caught him. These were the people that were around him that loved him and were trying their best in their own way to save him.Elvis had alot of yes people around him who just chose to look the other way as far as his addiction went.Sonny,Red,Dave & Billy were not one of those people. They actually cared enough to try and do something about it.If you havrnt already,,watch All The Kings Men which is a documentary by The Memphis Mafia. They all talk about this in detail including Elvis's cousin Billy.Thank you so much for watching this video and for expressing your opinion.Even if we don't agree on this,,I still respect what you had to say.God Bless and be well.
Great Elvis presley story very touching and about scatter too Please do more Elvis videos and also Elvis presley gave blood to blood drive when he was in the army
* * * the Cleaned Up version of Sonny recall, this is one of the guys who wrote that book about Elvis because he was fired. He was perfectly happy "living the Elvis lifestyle" UNTIL he was fired. Then all of a sudden the guy got sanctimonious & said he wrote the book to HELP elvis. This video is an example of 'if you can't beat'em, join'em" where he does nothing but tell Elvis fans (who have to pay to see him) nothing but nice stories about elvis (and he got paid for it!)
We all have that love for Elvis in common.I enjoyed this video. it give us and inside of how it was to be close to Elvis.I was not there when Red and Sonny and Dave got fired, but Im sure this guys loved him , but them went abit too far with this book was a tast of revenge .
