Nice find...my favorite LP is the fool LP. Hard to explain for me. But have several copies from different countries...Elvis In Person was and is a favorite growing up as a kid. The 1968 TV Special opened up my door to Elvis. The age of 7 and watched on a black and white TV. Still was very cool. About 50 years later with over 900 Elvis albums now. Yes, I'm almost done. IF FTD and Fridaymusic stoped, I'd be done...
Hey buddy. I totally agree about the Japanese pressings. I love them. I have a few myself. If you haven't already, get the Madison Square Garden LP. The sound on that will blow you away. Great video bud.👍🏻
I bought this album back in 70 when it was a double set with Back In Memphis album. It opened up like that but no pages in middle just both albums connected together like a book. Still have it. Cost 12.99 back then. Best version of Suspicious Mind in my opinion. Congrats on the find. Now listen to it.
Fab find.😎. I recently bought Japanese pressings of Elvis today and Elvis now to replace my UK originals.its good to have those two albums in Mon condition.i hope to pick up more.lol
Hi HVR. I’m in two minds about buying Japanese pressings. The main reason is the price. The ones I’ve seen on eBay are expensive. Enjoyed your video very much. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hey, Delores! Yes, the price tag on them is usually pretty rough....that’s why I was surprised to get this one for so cheap and to be in mint condition. Thank you for watching!
Found same thing with Japanese pressings overall. Mixes are usually better. The only thing I say about Elvis US releases going forward is that mixes are better as well as overall sound thanks mostly to Vic Aneseni. Nice find!
Yes, I completely agree! The presentation, mixes and overall package of original Japanese pressings are, in my opinion, far better. But, yes, Vic has done a pretty good job for modern releases. The only one I have been pretty disappointed in were the master takes on “Way Down In the Jungle Room”. I feel like he could’ve brought more out of the mixes than what was done.
Hey! Love your videos bro.. quick question: can you make a video where talk about those two (1972) Elvis posters you got. Where are they from? Etc.. (I want one too!!! 😍🤩🤣)
The Japanese pressings sound amazing! The only Japanese cd that I have listened to so far has had a great mix! It is the Mega Elvis Essential Collection. I was actually surprised to find out that they used the This is Elvis version of American Trilogy on the set.
The Japanese consider a music album_album record and its packaging as a work of art more than just a product for sale. Throughout the manufacturing process, quality control was present without the right to make mistakes _(ok we can ask ourselves the question of working conditions... oops not now)._ A defect? = Trash can! The technicians were highly qualified and meticulous. The record companies sent them a copy of the master on tape and the skills and experience of the technicians who cut the mother lacquer_matrix were the Royce Rolls of the profession (with HIGH QUALITY equipment "made in Japan"). Fun fact... after 28 years, Sony re-opened in 2018 a full manufactering record plant (Mastering/Cutting/Pressing). Will their quality standards remain the same? I can't tell you yet. Well, in fact I will pretty soon... stay tuned. Haha! PS : We are two "more than happy" owner of this Japanese version. ;)
My favorite Elvis "Live" Lp. My Japanese cd version of this album sounds better than the U. S. They obviously take more care and preparation for their releases.
It has nothing to do with the mixes, it’s all in the mastering process, which is different in Japan. As of now from 2000 on, they have been using a K2 mastering process which has now gone through blue spec and BluSpec2, which is only exclusive to the Japanese market.
