I love Elyse's stuff. And I don't think she needs to be on stage. I don't need to see her live. Just give her a $10mil Netflix comedy special (no audience needed) that she can edit. She's an amazing editor. I kind of get the feeling thst Mike thinks what she's doing now is "not enough" not legit. He's talking about making people happy. She does that DAILY .... to millions of people. Doesn't need to do it in a room of 1,000 for 3 nights each weekend.

Love this interview Mike💗💗💗...Elyse is such a joy to watch in my life & I wish her all the success in the world whatever way it comes!!!....She is a jewel and I love that she is "authentically herself"💗💗💗
Elyse, I was VERY pregnant with my son when that song came out (originally Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd, I believe.) I totally relate to weeping every single time I hear it - even now! Love you both!
I just love this. They are so comfy together. She is such a genuine person ❤I relate to her so much and her anxieties and his debilitating they can be. I use humor a lot to get through. 😊 I used to sit in the large closet to do my work…… 😂
You are two of my favorite people and creators. Thanks for being so open and authentic in what you put out there! You're both inspirations. Get some rest.
Oh Elyse I’m so excited for you that you he is willing to help you take baby steps to being on stage and storytelling. I can’t wait to see you live one day.
Dear God she is funny without trying to be just as you are Mike! I know it is hard to speak in public but her mannerisms and expressions are as funny or funnier than her words! You two together are a riot!
The hiding behind the couch on the floor is so relatably autistic. Small space, but not confining. Hidden. Noises are muffled. Kinda wish I owned a sofa.
As a nearly 50 year old man I think it's safe to say that Elyse connects with many people who are significantly older with significantly different lives then hers. She is just so damn human that she is totally relatable.
Finding this at end of a day filled with so much anxiety was simply priceless. I’ve adored Mike and Elyse separately, but my goodness, together in this format was stellar. Such beautiful people that bring so much love, kindness, and laughter to this thing we call life. 💞🌸
This setting is so comforting, it has the perfect lighting for someone with light sensitivity like I do. And who wouldn't want Mike as their lovely, wise, big brother. Such wonderful exchanges in this piece... ugh, words escape me.
Elyse: my husband does the "then I found five dollars" thing, but he generally says it to me when Ive been telling a story that isn't going anywhere. Like,it means, stop, this story has no point. 😂
Go for it Elyse! This a DREAM intro into standup and Mike's audience's are naturally loving people who are going to be rooting for you to do well regardless! I am a huge fan of you both and just as Mike says, "What is the worst that can happen?" After EVERY humiliating experience you have conquered and shared with us, If you picture the absolute worst case scenario, it truly is not that bad. We are ALL super insecure and some people just make us feel better about it by getting up on stage and making us laugh about it. Use your gift and this amazing opportunity!!
As part of her 35-45 married mother demographic, I thoroughly enjoyed this and absolutely relate to so much that both Elyse AND Mike talk about. I am a huge fan of both, and a collaboration (billed or unbilled) feels so perfect! ❤
I love this SO, SO much! Trust Mike, Elyse... he's our Mark Twain, he would know what is up, girl. Much love; in your time, truly. We'll wait. Love you both enormously!
I follow Elise but don't know her so well, like what is her main content type, but she seems to be good at everything 😊 I really enjoy how she participates in the conversation, she's workshopping the jokes really well with Mike
This was great but to be honest, I was searching for “I saved my best friends life “ (I had hoped to send this to my coworker- I was doing my best to tell it to him this joke today myself but he just looked at me with a blank expression-and the more I tried to “explain “ the joke, the worse it was received by him. Then I started apologizing for not telling the joke well, and that only made things worse so, I was thinking, if you would consider telling it yourself and sending it to him, or to me for me to send to him - that would be great or maybe just some stand up advice so I can try again and do a better job. But sincerely, this was a great podcast. I wasn’t planning on listening to the whole thing and continuing on my search for “I saved my best friend’s life”, but got caught up in the conversation. So, thank you both - you were great:)
Elyse, wanted to validate the adding "and then I found $5" at the end of a story that is tanking... In my case, I would use it when I felt whoever I was talking to wasn't actually listening to me as to not waste any more of my own time ... could be in the middle of a sentence and just end the whole thing by saying "And then I found 20 dollars!" So even more exaggerated, but yeah if that ending didn't get any kind of reaction, they DEFINITELY are not listening to my ass lol Also, would not of thought of it off the top of my head, but totally agree with "Mary, did you know" as a song that moves you... The first time i heard it was at my Churches Christmas Eve service when I was a kid, sang by my pastor (he was actually a really good singer) and it just gave me goosebumps from head to toe, even at that age...The weight of the words were felt! Thanks for the dose of nostalgia!
God, I love Elyse. I love her so much😢❤❤❤ she has helped me understand myself better and also help me find other RU-vid creators that are like her because I started to watch her that I got more of those types of content and it's been a world of difference😊❤ she is a very very wonderful and fantastic woman❤
Finding $5 is totally a thing. I find five bucks or Jesus, depending on the group I’m in, and how badly my story is bombing. 😂 This was an amazing episode. I’m a professional musician, and am totally unafraid to be on stage, but terrified of trying comedy. My friends tell me I should, but I can only be funny when there’s no pressure. This was a great window into a mindset and approach to dipping my toes in comedy.
