Nice ranking list. Especially agree with A Room with a View's romance not being as believable and strong as it should be. Totally agree with #1 & #2 in your list. I was so impressed with A Passage to India I read it twice back to back. Thank you for your video.

Thank you. I haven’t read Maurice, but the others are some of my favourite novels, and I’d agree with most of your judgments. However, I’ve always thought that Howards End has a fundamental flaw that the relationship between Margaret and Mr Wilcox was unbelievable. It seems impossible that someone like her would be attracted to him. How did this strike you? In Where Angels Fear to Tread the best drawn character is Mrs Herriton. She was the precursor to the memsahibs in the Passage to India, and that view of life provides the energy of the plots of both books.
Maurice is worth it. I think generally Forster isn't great at convincing with relationships, although in that novel the love between those two isn't as central as it is in say A Room with a View or Maurice. That said, I took the relationship to be a more "intellectual" marriage if that makes sense. It's not based on passionate love, but on two people who find each other interesting enough to want to be companions. Not sure it's the best way to run a marriage, but I think that's what Forster was going for.
