If anything makes me want to see this game on the new engine, with updated graphics and everything, it's this mission. I always hated it because it was so hard to see, and both the city and the sky looked uninteresting; the better memory of newer systems should make for a beautiful 3D city, while the new lighting technology should allow for either the city lights to reflects accurately off the clouds, or for better patterning to develop in high ones (or even things like a faint halo around the moon). Heck, if they wanted to, they could even make keeping the lights on a thing for the player, with the enemy able to restart the blackout as needed.
I agree about wanting to see the game on a new engine although maybe im weird but i remember as a kid having a hard time seeing in the mission as well because it was soo dark however, by the end of the mission i liked it because it was challenging and really felt like i was flying over a city in total blackout. I have yet to experience a video game with a night mission that genuinely felt dark like that and because of that this mission will always stand out for me.
+Andrew Rogers I really need to check Ebay to see if there really are backwards compatible PS3's for sale. Maybe that way I'll get to re-load my ACI progress on it and be able to play my PS2 games too. :P Speaking of which, I heard a PS2 game got re-released to PS4: Ape Escape 2. Loved that game. Now I'm thinking this: Will there be other re-releases? :o
Bruh this was the hardest mission for me. Maybe my TV was bad or something but it was so dark. Even with the brightness setting all the way up i had to rely on the altimeter 😂 I first got this game when I was like 7. I'm in college now and I still replay it sometimes and this mission still gives me trouble lol
I crashed at least 3 times the first time as a kid. Couldn't tell the difference between the skyline and the ground. Then I realized, just don't fly below 1,000 meters. If evading missiles, fly up and at an angle.
