Jonny is a light mid-tenor like the weeknd with amazing technique of adding rasp when the song calls for it given that his voice is light and beautiful naturally. I have to say Jeff Buckley has the greatest male voice of all time with songs like "That's All I ask" (live at Olympia) really showcasing the greatness of his voice. I definitely have to say though that Jonny is one of the most emotional male singers I have heard in the last 20 years. I can't listen to either version of ' nicotine armoire' and not be moved by the greatness of his voice.
Jeff Buckley is probably the best male voice I have heard as well as Jimmy Gnecco, but Jonny Craig is definitely up there for me. His singing is nothing short of amazing in the age where so many people rely on studio tricks to sound good.
It’s honestly sad, because even with all the issues and problems he’s had in his life when he’s in the live performing realm he looks so happy and enjoying it. We may never get rock Jonny ever again but I’ll still enjoy R&B Jonny!!
He's bringing the Relativity lineup back under a different name, and also putting out 2 new records as well as a Slaves record this year. It's his comeback.
In all seriousness, I'm so glad Jonny decided to use his voice for the post hardcore scene. He could've easily just gone solo, or sung hip hop, or pop, or jazz, or whatever. But no, he blesses us with his gift, and he's just perfect singing this type of music.
This is how you know that he doesn't do anything to his voice while recording. He is naturally amazing. I love Jonny Craig to the fullest. Forget about his past.
Piece it all together now Because I sell myself short every time Oh, how you became my life You took me in before I could back out Well I still have faith It will start again Oh, I still have faith Well I'm about to spend my cold life Cutting corners, placing blame Any moment this could catch fire, Erasing all the stains, so here's to starting over We could be the same, we'll change it all together The future's mine to claim, Claim, mine to claim You can't get out Fear, couldn't place its hands on us my dear My pride has dropped Because I couldn't sell short myself this time String it along Say you'll love me either way Well I'm about to spend my cold life Cutting corners, placing blame Any moment this could catch fire, Erasing all the stains, so here's to starting over We could be the same, we'll change it all together The future's mine to claim Seeing past It's about time I asked for more Watching my life, at the distance we have come While I bled, while I've learned But I always seem to give up on my self (Self, self, self, self) String it along Say you'll love me either way Say you'll love me any way While I'm alone Say you'll love me either way Mine to claim, claim! Well I'm about to spend my cold life Cutting corners, placing blame Any moment this could catch fire, Erasing all the stains, so here's to starting over We could be the same, we'll change it all together The future's mine to claim...
What a shame, his voice is a gift from God. His darkness comes from many things, but maybe it's also from access to that angelic power. It probably gets to you.
I just found this video and your channel from your upload of The Wonder Years acoustic set in September 2022 and I am now a glass case of emotion. These songs and his voice take me straight back 🥲🥲🥲
You can see how much of himself he puts into his music which is why he always sounds so amazing live. One of the most naturally gifted vocalists I've ever heard, he gives me shivers. Amazing video.
that rough period is his life. it's one thing to not be perfect and another to do nothing and not feel like you're doing nothing wrong. i believe in people as long as they take responsibility for their mistakes...he doesn't.
I wish Jonny and Jonas got along better, they compliment each other amazingly well. I think the whole band talks with Jonny on occasion still, would be sweet to see them make more music.
I wish people would stop bad mouthing this man. when i met him at Webster hall and everyone left i met johnny and his manager. He bought my friend and i drinks and chatted with us for an hour or so. He's incredible if you get to know him a bit.
I suppose I missed the part where he was a dick. I don't go too deep into celebrity news and all that yadda. All I see is a great voice, with beautiful lyrics.
@chazatkinz1 as much as i love emarosa, he's in a completely different league when in DGD. Just so much more powerful as a band IMO. it's good to know he's back in DGD as well as sticking with Emarosa. :)
