All of his bands are fantastic, but he hit his peak with Emarosa. I can't say I love any of his albums more than I do this self-titled album. So much soul and power, unmatched in his other work

Think of it like this- music and art more broadly impact us on an emotional level, but that ability to impress emotion upon us must be kept separate from your evaluation of the person behind the art. If we love the art and are impacted by it, we're naturally prone towards extending those emotions and that admiration to the person behind the art. But it's not reasonable to conflate good artistry we can admire with the artist being a good person we can admire, even if it's what we naturally fall into doing. The two have nothing to do with each other. Lots of good singers are really bad people. I love his music, but Jonny Craig is in all likelihood an exploitative human who would harm you for his own benefit and not lose sleep over it or give it a second thought. Sad as that is to acknowledge. For me, I love film; I had to come to terms with the fact most actors and actresses I adored for their movie roles were raging narcissists and sociopaths in real life. Sucks, but it is what it is.
