I'm glad emax finally put something out. You can cut the guards of and have a 1s toothpick 😊
@JohnFHendry

Yes ... that's what I was thinking. These guards don't work as well as the Tiny Hawk design so why not eliminate the added drag for flying outside. Just hope the motor shafts don't bend too easily and cause jello.

I think I like the prop guards. I'm not sure how much extra thrust you can really get on a quad that small using ducts, so might as well just use them only as prop guards.

Many are looking for a reliable 1s board so this is good to see another option! Sad that the connectors are more expensive than BT2.0. Gonna stick with BT2.0 for sure since they are enough for 1s. Interesting frame and canopy is all I’m gonna say. FC FTW?! Time will tell. Cheers Albert!
@JohnFHendry

Really glad to see the PH 2.0 connector being discontinued by EMAX! Good sign for the hobby on 1S. And look at the video quality.... good job EMAX! Looks like you could cut off the prop guards and get longer flight times with far less drag for way better performance flying outside. Sure like to know what the weight is without the plastic guards as I know from flying the JJ1000 that's 3g prop guard has even less drag how much better these small quads fly with the reduction in drag. BTW the cam has two angle settings and looks like it might be stuck in-between the two settings?

I think it's a great design. I have gone to a completely open-wheel carbon fiber frame for my Moby7 with a R-SXR receiver and I think it's the Beez-Kneez.
@SlugFulsvamp

Lighter and less drag so it should fly better than the average 65mm, but not as much prop protection. But if it is easier to fly you might not need the propguards as much.

@Rene200Y
@Rene200Y 3 года назад
Just increase those rates on Roll and Pitch little by little in the OSD and check after every increase how the quad handles. You cant do anything wrong with this method. If you want to preserve your current rates, do the testing on another rate profile.

@ZorrotorFPV

I like to think about this as a "ducted 1S Toothpick". Its deffense stats are not the best, but it seems to perform way to different than a traditional Tinywhoop. If you crash, you have to change props. If I need something that can crash, the Tinyhawk series are the choice. However I want to congratulate EMAX for thinking outside the box, instead of cloning another Inductrix Blade like everyone else (I'm looking at you BetaFPV, Eachine, Mobula, KingKong, NewBeeDrone, Uruav, etc)
@MrBeatboxD
@MrBeatboxD 3 года назад
If you are used to flying the tinyhawk its night and day with this quad, i like it a lot. it's the indoor freestyle quad i've always wanted. I like the hoverpoint for acro more with a 450mah battery. I switched to a solidpin ph2 connector and am getting a lot of motor noise but worth it for using older whoop batterys i still have. (odd that it doesn't come with a capacitor but good for the weight i guess)
@wmcewa01
@wmcewa01 3 года назад
@TPMG - I am planning something very similar, so I’m hoping you can answer two quick questions for me: 1. Although the Nano comes with a 300mah battery, you’ve had no trouble running it with 450mah? 2. How did you switch to a solid pin connector? Did you desolder the GNB from the board? I want to use the bt2.0 connector with this quad, so I’m thinking of either making an adaptor or removing the gnb pigtail in favor of a bt2.0 pigtail. THANKS!
@MrBeatboxD
@MrBeatboxD 3 года назад
@@wmcewa01 thats easy to answer, yes a 450 runs really good, i like it better than 300 because for me 300 is a bit overpowered. and i just cut the gnb connector of the wire and soldered the new connector on it. (easier than replacing the wire on the board) but i will probably just switch it bach to gnb in the future once i have enough batterys for it.

Another great review video. I think it’s a pretty cool whoop although I feel like Emax wasn’t intelligently thinking when it came to sending it out with a battery with the Gnb connector and a charger that’s equipped with a Ph connector. I understand that they provide you with the adapter but if someone was just getting into the hobby not knowing anything about it as stupid as this my sound but that could be the deal breaker for someone beings they can only charge one battery at a time. Beings they can’t just go buy a few more batteries they would need to buy more adapters as well in hopes that they could find them. I’m assuming they’re not that easy to come by. I don’t correct me if I’m wrong but I think that was a really poor decision. Any way I think it’s a cool drone.

in your personal 65 mm ranking where do you place this NanoHawk? While the Mobula6? The differences are clear but I wanted your opinion on which one you think is unbeatable 😄
@AlbertKimTV
@AlbertKimTV 3 года назад
I think for acro the nanohawk is pretty good and in-line with the mob6 25000kv version. However, the fixed camera angle kinda kills it for that. For indoor racing, it's about the same as everything else. I personally don't like the fact the props get bent so much from crashes. The GNB27 connector is better but you can change that on the other models. It's a mixed bag overall.
@teobass82
@teobass82 3 года назад
@@AlbertKimTV I agree on the prop guards. I thought they were rigid and instead they are soft ... maybe there was an intermediate solution. Then the canopy is connected to the ducts, I see it a little more difficult to create in 3d printing. In flight it will be good, but the build needs to be smarter, not just a novelty. I suspect something is missing to make it an indoor top. I hope my english is decent 😄 a Mobula6 upgraded I see it still a step forward
@wmcewa01
@wmcewa01 3 года назад
@@AlbertKimTV can you just desolder the gnb connector and add a pigtail with whatever connector you choose? Or maybe even easiest, solder a spare gnb connector to whatever connector you choose and just use it as an adaptor?
