Why I chose 2306 motors versus 2207 motors for a long-range (~medium-range) iFlight Chimera5 build: I want thrust to lift li-ion batteries in a motor that is still light and efficient. What do you think? Can racing motors be used for long range FPV drones? 🤔

I can't agree for smoothness. But I agree about flight time. With high response time like the 2207 the PID controller can better compensate vibrations or not wanted movements... That means a 2207 is smoother...

That's an interesting perspective, I hadn't thought of it that way, I always think of wider stators as smoother and taller stators as more responsive, but I never thought of how the PID controller can impact those tendencies.

@@colibrifpv Yep, it depends on what you mean by smoothness. If I make jerky movements with the gimbel, a 2306 motor will react slower and smoother than a 2207. But if jerks occur due to external environmental influences, the 2207 will be able to compensate better than the 2306, with the PID controller...
