This was so fun to film in Aruba with Mandy, Kendall, and Juliette! Instagram: @gretchengeraghty | Snapchat: gretchennnnn | Twitter: @glbyt | Spotify: gretchennnnn xoxo, Gretchen
There’s a difference between staying in shape and healthy eating habits (as the person asked) and staying skinny. Lets remember to prioritize health over being skinny and be careful about what titles and content we put out
Jocelyn Grace did you see where Mandy said the thing I like about Juliette is she will tell me the cold hearted truth like if I have a picture and I don’t know if I look skinny... I seen your comment and just had to say this..
You all are so pretty, and have great personalities. This was such a good idea. We need a separate fashion, lifestyle QnA with Mandy. She seems like she pretty much has it together lol
Tell Juliette to come to UMD!! I go here now and LOVE it, all of my friends are from Mass and everyone is so happy here. It is a good in between because the weather is warmer but not as far as Florida. Can't wait to see where she chooses to go!
"I heard it makes your legs big so I'm trying to cut that out" ahhhh that's such a dangerous attitude. I know it was a joke, but think about how all those little comments here and there build up and emphasizing being a certain body type is bad for you and those around you. I know it seems strange because everyone is always talking about it, but making an effort to stop complaining and talking about your body or comparing yourself to others can make a huge impact on your self esteem and when you don't participate in it, your friends will slowly start to catch on as well.
Did you even read my comment? I recognized that she didn't mean it as a big deal, but just wanted to point out that unfortunately in our society there's a problem with the way women and girls talk about their bodies by idolizing certain body types and it has real and studied effects on people's self esteem and health. I don't think Mandy is mean or a bad person, it's just important for young girls to know that it's okay to be strong and have big muscles if that's what comes from an exercise that makes them happy! So yeah it's "that deep".
Ok well not having big leg muscles would make her happy so...?? There's nothing wrong with wanting to look like a specific body type. I would prefer to be skinny and toned, others may prefer big muscles, and others may prefer to be curvy. Me saying i wouldnt want to be curvy isn't saying that being curvy is bad. You literally said in ur comment that you know mandy didn't mean it in a bad way but then you go on about how young girls shouldnt be taught that having big muscles is a bad thing so ur argument goes against that lol. Yes i did read ur comment and yes i understand it. If what mandy said wasnt really that big of deal, u wouldnt have gone on a whole spill about it lol her comment obviously triggered you to write your comment. Someone wanting a specific body type isnt having a negative attitude about their body.
I’m an Aries ❤️❤️ April 7th!! LOVE THIS VIDEO!, especially cause the girls are in it! It’s so cool to see all their answers to the questions I pretty much knew yours 😂😂 Love you Gretchen! And Juliette go to Florida! And Mandy go to BU!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Vaseline is generally regarded as safe, the components that are removed from the oil during the refining process of petroleum jelly are carcinogenic in some cases. Vaseline supposedly has all of these [components] removed. Raw Shea Butter is a good substitute or Vaseline.
What shops/boutiques do you guys recommend on LI? All of you guys have such cute clothes and I'm trying to change up my outfits since I basically live in sweats
mandy youll love south carolina! i just graduated from there! maryland sucks sry juliette haha I’m from around there but the area umd campus is located is super sketchy
Regarding chapstick, I am allergic to Vaseline, Burts Bees, Blistex, Nivea, and probably the Chapstick brand. (Yay for skin allergies!!) The only chapstick that I can use is Dr. Bronner's Naked Organic Lip Balm and homemade chapstick. *Yes, I do know that I use chapstick as a general term, and that I probably mean lip balm. To me its all one in the same.
I normally love your videos but the title of the video REALLY puts me off. You’re putting the wrong things into people’s head because it’s OKAY to have a bigger body shape! Yes I agree, eating things in moderation is the most sustainable way to live a healthy life, but the fact that you used the word “skinny” really aggravates me especially during National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. One of your other videos also put me off when you said “She doesn’t eat” in regards to Mandy. Losing weight or being skinny isn’t going to make anyone feel any better if they don’t love themselves. I don’t take these things light because I had an eating disorder in high school and it’s sad seeing one of my favorite RU-vidrs being so ignorant.
People have actually asked her those questions. If you look at her IG people constantly ask her how she stays skinny. She's the sweetest, I'm sure she's just using the word the people ask, in which they use the word 'skinny'
Nia A I get what you’re saying and I don’t think she meant the title to be viewed as “being skinny is better” but body positivity is such a touchy yet important subject and it needs brought attention to :)
Jenna G I agree, but as far as calling her ignorant is a little too far. She's just answering the questions, she also goes into detail about health too.
