Really enjoyed this vlog, as I always do! Your presentation of everything is hands down-the best!! Thank you for including all of us ! Appreciate the information you always include. Look forward to these vlogs every time you cruise.
I would like to say thank you for all small details you share with us! It is a great help (luggage tags, Arrive CAN, and everything else). I am heading on the Grand in about 44 days! I hope they improve the meals by then! Thank you again.
I loved your coffee crawl around town that's something I would enjoy. And thanks for your honest opinion about buffet. I want to do a family alaska cruise someday and I'm enjoying this vlog, thanks
So good! Loved reliving this day through your video! Totally agree about the food, that day 1 was rough. I LOVED the windows in your stateroom. They were so much larger than I expected from an ocean view. Excited for all the rest of these videos!
Thanks so much for the details, timing (how long it too for various portions of embarkation), and honesty. Very thorough and useful, especially the Medallion App. I have found it frustrating on more than one occasion and we are not even on board yet! I look forward to seeing your cruise and comparing to our experience. Thanks again.
I cruised on the Grand Princess as a retirement present to myself in May 2016 going the opposite direction after a 3 day land trip to Denali with my husband, who has since passed, and my adult daughter. Wonderful trip. I don't remember too much about the food although I don't remember it being awful. Actually, I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to food. We had an accessible balcony cabin because my husband had had a stroke some years before and used a wheelchair. I thoroughly enjoyed the balcony. We saw one of the glaciers calving from our balcony which was awesome. It was a huge chunk of ice and caused the ship to rock a good bit. My next cruise is going to be on the MSC Meraviglia in September. Can't wait. I hope the food got better from this point on.
I just discovered your vlog! You and your mum seem such a beautiful people! I was already following Adam and Sherri and heard your name mentioned, so was excited to find you. I live in Australia and really enjoy the travel vlogs and it’s so nice to see your outlook on everything. I’m also a very big reader and am a volunteer church librarian. I know I’m going to really enjoy watching you🌹🌺
That ferry you saw was the SeaBus, it's part of the Vancouver transit system (busses, SkyTrain & SeaBus). The SeaBus & SkyTrain Terminals are right next to the cruise ship terminal. The SeaBus & SkyTrain are easy walking distance to the ships & DT Vancouver hotels. You can catch the SeaBus to cross the ocean to visit the cities of North Vancouver & West Vancouver. It runs regularly, every 20-30 mins or so. It is a passenger ferry (cars have to take the bridges) that allows foot traffic, mobility equipment, bikes & luggage (a lot of cruise passengers stay on the North Shore, it's often *less than half the price* of DT hotels & much quieter, larger rooms, more boutique hotels...) It is a *much* better experience for disabled folks on the SeaBus over gambling on IF you can get an "accessible" taxi on time, if it's even accessible, if it has storage, or paying a massive price for the PP hotel. SeaBus & SkyTrain access is excellent; all ramps, elevators, Braille signage, tactile clues on cut-downs, well lit, audible traffic lights, crossing guards, and excellent pathways (I use a mobility device/WC, we test it *regularly*, we are not just guessing). Passengers can pick up a Starbucks (on either end). Plus there are public bike depots (pick up/turn in) at either end, and public washrooms & public emergency phones. Easy, peasy. The SeaBus terminal on the north shore has a big fresh food market & a bunch of restaurants & parks in the area, plus festivals pretty much every weekend. It's an amazing place to visit. We *always* stay on the North Shore, cheaper, more to explore, amazing trees, plus taking the SeaBus is a unique experience, which is exactly what we travel for.
We were on that cruise and agree the food the first day at the buffet and dining restaurants was not very good but it improved after that to the point where it was very good.
Hi Auburn good morning happy Friday morning and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
I had to laugh, when you mentioned, Sara, purrs ....cause when my hubby, says I snore, I always say, I don't snore, I purr! Looking forward to seeing Alaska , thru the eyes of a newbie, Mom, Sara! Vickie from SE Pa
About the food on princess. I’ve been on 18 cruises, and I was on Royal Princess May 13-20 to Alaska. It was D+ at best. Some of the better food I found was in Alfredo’s or at the International cafe. That said, the service was by far A+ and the French martini and espresso martini were the best I’ve ever had A++++. Honey lavender lattes were amazing as well.
Nice video! Couple questions….what day of week was your embarkation, did Uber drop you off at P1 or P2 level? What was total time from Uber drop off to on board? Thank you!
We embarked on a Saturday am. The city was asleep while we were walking around testing different coffee shops. We went back to the hotel and checked out, contacted Uber or Lyft (not sure which now, it might be in the video). When the driver showed up, they asked us what ship and took us. Mom was worried he was taking us the wrong way. His way drove us around the traffic backup, and we were there, quickly!
Where are y’all from? Just wondering how far you e had to travel. I was watching several videos and heard the same thing about the food. That’s one of the main reasons I’d ever take a cruise. Ive never been on one and will likely only go on the Alaskan one or a Viking river cruise. That’s too bad.
I was on the Grand Princess May1-7 2023, first time cruising with Princess. I do agree that the buffet was not very good. I hope it's just the Grand Princess and not all princess cruises. If so this is a deal breaker and will not cruise with princess anymore. Can anyone let me know.
So fun! And you are cruising with Adam and Sherri Legg! I found their channel about 3 years ago when anticipating an Alaskan cruise that was cancelled due to covid. The next year (still no cruising) we just flew into Anchorage and did our own land tour of the Kenai peninsula, visiting Homer, Seward and Hope. Last August we used our cruise credit to go back, cruising from Vancouver to Seward and tacking on two beautiful days hiking in Palmer above Anchorage. I hope you had a great time, it's very cool that you made friends in Alaska. What a beautiful state! We loved it. Also I think you live in Florida. We are in St. Augustine. I saw a video where the Legg's visited during Nights of Lights. (Around Christmas). I was singing and playing guitar in a bar nearby when they were filming. How cool it would have been to happen by them! If you ever visit, look me up and come see me. I don't stink. LOL. All the best to you! Signed- "a weird talkative stranger".
@@susanburkettrn2042 I don't know what Alegre is. I don't know where any of them are and I don't know any of them personally. I was just trying to be friendly, I hope that is ok. :)
Im only 12 mins in...but i cant wait to see what happens with the port times and all this lollygaging around town before getting your butts to the terminal
Auburn, you should always stay near Canada place when going tomAlaska. You also need to get a balcony! Windows are great but seeing it thru real life is better . Kinda surprised of your choices. I recall a Suite on the Disney cruise in the past . I thought this would of been the same . Sorry, not gonging to finish the video. You need to step,up your game!
Wow, it's always surprising when people leave unnecessary comments. Her vacation, her money, and she's choosing to share free content for us to enjoy. If you don't like it, feel free to move along. No comment is needed. Confused how a window vs. balcony impacts you enjoying a vlog? Autumn, thanks for sharing your trip! Always enjoy when you and your mom are out creating memories!
