I have been married to my lovely wife for 34 years. The only thing I found harder than keeping my composure as I watched my soon to be wife walk down the aisle, was trying and failing to keep my composure while walking my daughter down the aisle. As a young man I held it together. As an old man, I lost it. I guess I have become an old softy. Keep up the good work.
Love you dad! Grandkids love watching Paw Paw climb mountains. Keep working your way north. We can’t wait to join you for sections closer to Pennsylvania. ❤
Thursday, March 07th: Great photos! Nice sunshine. Making miles! Three days in, stating importance of being relaxed. 316 = tag number = trail nickname (3:16). Good to hear equipment is functioning. Deep Gap Shelter. Many goals reached. You got this! Good luck! Happy Trails! Ross08
Hola, Mark! Your old high school classmate, Ken Heim here! I'm so happy you have retired and are living your dream! Congratulations!! My wife and I have been married for 34 years are now fully retired as well and are doing our version of 'living our dream' in Costa Rica! Until last year we lived in Franklin County, very near the AT and my wife Dianna used to work on maintaining the AT. Please feel free to hit us up! We'd love to hear from you.
Hi 👋 How are you getting your footage to your son? The files are so big. I don’t have a family editor for my thru hike 😂 but maybe I could convince someone to help. Nice start, enjoyed this video 🙏 Can’t wait to start!!
Hi! Editor/son here.. he has a GoPro and before he left we got the GoPro Plus subscription - it has unlimited storage which is fantastic as is. But from there he can easily upload that footage as well as footage from his phone to me. Thank you for the feedback and for watching!
Ahh thanks for answering my question. I have the GoPro Hero 12 but mine has to be plugged in to up load to the cloud and the file sizes are huge. I didn’t think it would be an option to bring it. 🙏
Hi brother. Im pretty sure I passed by you on the trail at some point out day hiking. I love the name 3:16 for you. That’s a good message for you to take up the trail with you. Blessings to you as you head north 😊🙏
II wanted to listen to music, I'd watch a music video; the music takes away from the trail, the footsteps and the sounds of birds and water flowing and wind and even raindrops are all preferable to music. i hope this doesn't sound too harsh, but music isn't necessary in my book. Hope all goes well for you and I'll check back later.
Editor/son here.. thanks for the feedback! I like adding some music occasionally to keep it a little dynamic - but good to remember to not overlook the wonderful sounds of nature! Appreciated!
This is one of the most heartfelt videos I have seen. You are doing a great job of putting things together. A perfect blend of music, sounds of the trail and audio. Love it.
have a great journey on the Appalachian trail rooting for you all the way to katahdin. i will be out there myself in May doing the Virginia triple crown. one step at a time you got this
Take your time when time is needed. It's no sprint! You got this, I can sense it in your character! I subscribed, looking forward to the adventure with ya.
You know, I was watching Sticks vlog the other day and he mentioned you and video showed you. When he said 316 I commented, Is his first name John? 😆 he didn’t respond 🤣 and no! It doesn’t snow in Georgia!?!
Subbed!! Love this. I followed Hawk and Quicksand for years. I wish you all the best my friend. My daughter is starting her flip flop in May after college graduation. It's been something I've wanted to do, but probably not in my cards. Support from CT 👣
Oh my god, what a heart warming thing to watch. You and your wife at springer sharing that was beautiful. I was there in March 2019, I totally understand.
I am glad that I have run across your channel. I really like the way you put this video together. I will someday get to have this experience, hopefully. For now, I am the main care giver for my wife who has become disabled by the major strokes. My wife and I have never said good bye to each other because to me that sounds final. Instead, we tell each other that we will see you later. The little things in life my friend. Stay safe, and enjoy the journey. By the way, I gave you a sub.
