Embarking on the Houghton Bonsai Juniper Challenge

Hey Scott, thank you for the challenge. Do you have any more info on this? What is the basic premise of the challenge? Just grab a juniper and style it out? I happened to accidentally purchased 20 [bare root] junipers in fall. They were potted up in october-ish, and possibly I could do some work on one of them.

Admittedly I skipped forward a bit but really appreciate the work done on this tree. Nicely done Scott. Thanks, keep growing

A very nice specimen you picked out Scott. Twin trunk is very cool. Repot and styling were a great inspiration for anyone wanting to tackle this juniper. I admire your decision not to finish the tree so that it has enough green on it to survive the winter months and then take off into the spring for a nice recovery. It has a very cool windblown look to it, like a tree on a mountain side. Excellent!!! Definitely a cup of tea is in order.

Its looking really good, gotta love free plants hey. I picked up an old Azalea on a garden job which looked dead but has some great movement but has come back with much love.. thanks for a great vid

...wouldn't be best to keep anything other than succulents and tropical trees outdoor? I keep all my trees outdoor and they love the winter months if it gets below zero for many weeks at the time then I just pile up leaves or mulch around the vases and put them in contact with the ground otherwise also on benches they do just fine......
