Sure. It is way cheaper than splicing. Also, you do not need to carry a fusion splicer, do not need "labor", just 2 hands, and a small thinking head. If you need to install a termination in an end user's home, it is faster and more fool-proof solution than splicing. A fistful of quick connector costs about 50-70USD (100 pcs), and they reusable connectors, so you can tinkering :)
Hi there! I'm also a Telecom Technician from Hungary. And you? I work with optical fibers. My apc connectors not always but very often break the fiber after a few hours. So this is how I got here :D maybe that's me who's doing something in the wrong way. But I don't think so. My fibrlocks and the splices I do with fusion splicer never go wrong.. I have no idea what's going on :D
sometimes my sc connector doesn't work properly. And my wifi operator told me to spray on the front side of sc connector from any cleaner and reconnect it. This trick works but I didn't find anything on internet is it safe???
If you need cleaning an optical termination like this, and you wish a reliable solution, look for Reichle And DeMassari. It is not cheap, but works good, and very simple to use.
True, but maybe you should learn to read an instrument: It shows -14.6d0Bm = 34.69µW first and with the cable -15.39 dBm = 28.91µW - that's 0.79dB loss..
