The shielding tent from Langer EMV-Technik is a mobile cabin for measurements on electronic circuits. It fits easily on every desk top, is 40 cm high and provides a work surface area of 50 by 90 cm. Enough space for even more complex electronic devices.
The closed cabin achieves a shield attenuation of around 50 dB in the frequency range up to 1 GHz.
This means an interference-free measurement environment when the tent is closed.
We can thus perform emission measurements on the device under test without any expensive EMC absorber chambers, for example.
Alternatively we can protect our sensitive measurement technology when performing an ESD test during immunity investigations.
The shielding tent takes up hardly any room when folded away and can be stored easily. The system comprises the shielding tent, poles and a ground plane.
This metallic GP23 ground plane forms the reference plane of the measurement system.
The following interfaces are included as a connection to the outside environment:
- a filtered 230 V socket outlet with earthing contact
- an RJ45, e.g. for Gigabit Ethernet
- a USB
- a 3.5 mm socket for 12 V supply
- one BNC RF bushing
- two SMA RF bushings
- four filtered bushings for laboratory cables
- and two further SMA RF bushings
The tent can be set up quite easily. First unfold the poles and insert them into the two rear bores in the ground plane. Then pull the shielding tent over the poles. The shielding tent has magnetic elastic bands and snap fasteners. We can thus fasten the tent within a few seconds. The tent can be opened and closed conveniently from the front, allowing quick access to the device under test. We can also open the entire tent wide so that the electronics are even more easily accessible.
