This little 6 cylinder 567 powered switch has been residing in Oak Ridge for some years and I have always wondered what it was like to see it running. Originally built in 1947 for the Southern Railway, 2008 spent several years in the early Southern freight diesel paint scheme with the dark green and white. Its later years has it in Southern "Tuxedo" paint while being renumbered to 1012. The little engine made it onto Norfolk Southern before spending its last years of service as a steel mill switcher.
The locomotive is now recently in running shape again after spending some years in storage. Here, the little switch engine is seen coming back from Blair, TN. with an inbound empty getting some much needed in-service running time.
Enjoy!
